Agreed - it's a great opportunity for "HN" to realise, whether they like it or not, that "asian" does not only relate to "east asian". It is appalling that the commenter above had to edit their own comment

I know Mozilla played a big part w.r.t Rust, but it's strange to see this on the front page... we had this 2 days ago https://foundation.rust-lang.org/posts/2021-02-08-hello-worl... , and now we have a low-effort b

That doesn't sound great. There is no reason the favicon should be loaded from tiangolo.com...

Any good alternative for Safari? I knew I would get alternative browser recommendations because of my phrasing... but I was also looking forward to them!

An update! I purchased a pack and I've had it on for 5 hours now. I think it's working. It isn't perfect, but I can actually get some air in, thank you. I tried the neilmed sinuflo readyrinse a while ago but I couldn't e

For as long as I can remember! My first real fear of "ghosts" as a child was from a sleep paralysis episode where I had the usual hallucinations that go with it. Every morning when I "wake" into sleep paralysis, I'm

First 1,000 users is great if you have something with a "free" version. Any advice on how to get your first 1,000 customers?

Thank you - I'm going to check it out. I also had a look at Lemmy recently which promises better fediverse support in the future. Is there a link to a live example? Didn't see one in the README

Besides Pleroma mentioned elsewhere in this thread, has anyone checked our Misskey ( https://join.misskey.page/en/ )? It has some interesting features, like arranging your own virtual room and sharing it with others. I&#

Is that the only benefit of Pleroma over Mastodon? Have you checked Misskey before https://join.misskey.page/en/ ? It looks interesting too...

I thought Mastodon was closer to Twitter than it is to the classic BBS. How is your instance going - did you build a community around it?

I do exactly the same! What I mean is, there are those that will vote or even comment without reading the article - I don't believe it's a problem unique to fediverse platforms.

That is quite a challenge... some people struggle to summarise an article into 5-6 sentences for an abstract.

    > The “I read headlines only” problem This remains true for most platforms, not just those in the fediverse. HN is one example! I am reading this article with great interest. I've recently started exploring fediverse platforms with
