I wouldn't say it's off topic. I've been thinking about this, because I do agree with you that I likely underestimate his contributions. I wasn't following the movement back then, and only know of his reputation. (I was

How are you tackling all the missing / private APIs in Cocoa WebKit? Stuff like location, fullscreen, WebRTC, etc.

I've used this to convert a small Google Meet push-to-talk extension: https://github.com/BashVideo/google-meet-push-to-talk/pull/2... That one's really simple, but doing the Firefox port first seems

That’s the beauty of how jumphosts work, you get the input hostname verbatim. SSH leaves lookup to the server. :-) I like this idea! I wonder how much of it is compatible with how LazySSH works right now. It’s not really on my list of thing

It is VMs at the moment, that’s true, but perhaps only because it’s MVP functionality. If you can start/stop those from some Go code, it could work I think?

I wasn’t thinking this through. LazySSH is a jump host only right now, so the endpoint also needs to be SSH.

Oh, that's interesting! Didn't know AWS had that ability. Maybe then there are also some SDK functions I don't know about? I wonder why Packer doesn't go this route. Super tiny downside to your approach: you'll be p

This did cross my mind! Specifically, just forwarding to something other than TCP. Doesn't sound impossible if we change interfaces a little bit. Thinking, we can make dialing the provider responsibility. I didn't want to block th

Author here, thanks for submitting! I submitted this elsewhere myself, and added a little extra blurb, so I'll just quote it here: > This is very much a ‘release early’ type thing. I’ve mostly been testing with it, and not yet serio

That sounds great! I tried to structure and document interfaces the best I could, but I'm fairly new at Go. Hope it's all clear enough.

But ⌘D is also 'add bookmark' on Mac, at least. So depending on which UI element inside Chrome is focussed, it may not do what you want either. I've been using this extension: https://chrome.google.com/webst

We tried jsonnet for several months to generate config, but eventually abandoned it because the templates got too hairy. Plus rendering is slow. We ended making the effort to simplify config of all our app’s components to just read from one

The .local TLD is reserved for mDNS. You may run into devices that completely refuse to resolve hosts in it using regular DNS.

This is absolutely great if it fits your case, but otherwise maybe not the best time investment. We happen to do event-based stuff at $work, with short running servers. Deploys go to several AWS regions, coordinated from servers in Europe.

I ran into this earlier with Lua for different reason, and recently discovered PHP does this too. Maybe we just need to find a way around it? I was thinking of trying to bridge jumps with the Rust panic mechanism. (Basically try-catch at ea

I thought this was maybe just a Mac-specific issue, but apparently not! Chrome and Safari are fine, but Firefox is horridly slow. I'm kinda hoping more Quantum / Webrender stuff will fix things in the future.

I’m not sure there’s a real reason. Wikipedia says it’s based on pump.io, so maybe it grew out of a prototype? It seems like a good place to start as any. Putting it on top of TCP seems like an optimisation, that can always come later if ne

I was wondering the same thing! Especially considering modern messengers all talk HTTP any way. I think it should be possible. For example, federation in Plemora seems lightning fast on a local instance. (Mastodon is a bit heavier and slowe

I think all that is the responsibility of the viewer. When you view a single message on Mastodon, then Mastodon is responsible for fetching the rest of the thread for your display. In practice, it looks like Mastodon also stores / cach
