Exactly right. I teach at a uni in South Korea. Students who never lived/traveled outside the country will never, ever raise their hands if they don't understand. Not only that, but if you ask them outright, they will nod and say clearly

I liked the minimal font selection before, since it encouraged focus on content over style. Since there were so few options, all the offered fonts had to be crisp and professional-looking in any context. But I guess more is better… On anoth

They probably choose that asteroid diameter to say exactly the above: i.e. "relax, it can't hurt you."

I checked out timeforzen.com. I don't want to unblock flash so that audio can play. The message suggesting I do that sounds a bit snarky too.

I don't think I should need to login/register before creating a doc. I want to see what I can do first.

Also remember that in Star Trek the most ubiquitous technology was the pin-on-walkie-talkie, during use of which people would look up at the ceiling. It was a show defined by the 80's/90's , with several plotlines that could have been resol

I learned the Korean alphabet (Hangul). It's by far the easiest/most logical natural language alphabet to learn, and takes just a few hours to get reasonably proficient. It rocks and I read it well... the trouble is I don't know what I'm

That's a fantastic idea. I'm struggling to learn Korean, and it's tough because few of the words are recognizable to me. I have a base of English/French/Russian, so that doesn't help (much). I would love to try to put my grammar/flash car

Exactly this. Everything needed for iPhone/iPad already existed off-the-shelf years prior as well. It takes a lot of oomph to condense all that into a beautiful little device that doesn't suck during real life day-to-day use.

If filling out the personal profile is a requirement, why are there some profiles which are blank? Perhaps those members are not interested in viewing other members?

I love the idea. Suggestion: filling out the personal profile section should be a requirement. Also, a couple of leading questions, OKCupid style, wouldn't be a bad way to get people to describe themselves a little better. Something like

Quizlet is awesome, but the use-case for this new tool could be: a) mentioning new vocab off-the-cuff (or in response to a question) in class and immediately showing a picture of it b) students trying to remember a word and me showing them

I don't know about Europe, but walking around South Korea three years ago, it was a sea of Samsungs and LGs on every man, woman, child, and senior. Today, if a university student isn't sporting an iPhone 4 (not 3Gs, since that's last year'
