Then we stop increasing albedo for a bit. Basically PWM-ing the Earth's solar flux. As long as the decay time of the albedo modification is known, it's quite unlikely that we could induce a snowball earth.

That's wild. So every column is fixed width? Is anything nullable, or for like the user_data column, do you just use 0x0 to indicate no record?

I just learned about using this tag in github comments for hiding full tracebacks or large code blocks and it is such a usability game changer.

Thanks! This is pretty sleek! I'm going to have to dust off my homelab and play around with this. What is the stack written in? Looks like a lot of javascript and makefiles from the github side of things but idk if that's the whol

Germany's energiewende has been faltering even before the energy crisis. But what do they have a ton of? I can guarantee their coal consumption will increase before it even thinks about dropping again.

#927 is a fun quip, but as an actual critique of engineering practices, I'd actually much rather see folks attempt new standards and innovate when they feel like they have an idea which could work better, rather than be discouraged by

Absolutely, I completely agree with every point in this comment. Round would have been a much better and more neutral term for "one unit of agile work". "Sprint" is tantamount to "bursty and not sustainable". S

This is the best criticism of agile, and jira in particular. A lot of software work just doesn't box well. I've always struggled with "when is a ticket actually done?" Merge to main? Well we don't go straight to pro

I thought "sprint" was dumb at first, for exactly this reason, it's not a sprint if it's week after week. But over time it's just become jargonized, a term of art for me. It's just a unit of organization.

There are absolutely crappy teams, but I think what is more common is incompatible teams, or managers incompatible with their ICs. Many folks may be unproductive with one management style yet thrive in another.
