I have my lid open with my externals, I never seen my monitor alone fail to wake, but sometimes all displays refuse to turn on, even the laptop built in. Doesn't happen every time, but maybe 1/10 tries

When is an app ever this simple? 95% of the time, you're transforming or combining data in the backend, between the client and the DB. Tables are never so pristine.

I find and listen to plenty of new music, for some reason I find it hard to listen to the teenage stuff. Even though I love it, its too fraught. But, its not like I love any of the new music I find. I can like it, but I'm never going

I gave up trying to center fonts and icons in every situation. I can't explain to my boss that I need 3 days to center a fucking button, especially when he doesn't even notice the problem to begin with.

Demons Crest on the SNES was an absolute blast, don't know why it isn't talked about these days. I think its better than the SNES castlevanias, and close to Metroid.

At least on the Robinhood and crypto side, I think 20-somethings are just absolutely desperate. They look at their parents generation and see everything they aren't allowed to have. Working harder won't buy them a house. So they l

I don't know how they can improve the game. Better art and music, but mechanically its already as close to perfect as you can get. I don't think a better balanced and mechanically rich deck builder exists.

I feel like it gets easier and slower . Obviously not at first, but a decade or two in? Once you start knowing all of those things you didn't know, you realize just how much consideration is required for every decision.

I'm actually sympathetic to the cloud provider angle. As of right now, that is the natural trajectory. The majority of high-value customers are going to go through a cloud provider. Maybe some kind of new license is in order. Open sour

I actually "solved" this problem, though not for logging, and other restrictions made me move away from it. In our case it was for Row Level Security, but essentially we get our userId from a JWT in our API (you should already hav

Hate to pile on, but this is absolutely not the definition of functional programming. Functional programming uses stateless, immutable transformations to contorl data flow. The second you instantiate an object with some internal properties

40 years ago I wrote Assembly that ran directly on the CPU. You could modify the registers directly. Then these crazy people came along and made a compiled language? And it outputs... Assembly? I'm sorry, but a huge chunk of todays &qu

In the PC-to-console world, there is no open solution. Everyone either builds their own ports, or (more likely) pays a porting company to do the work for them, who in turn have built there own solution. Console developer kits are proprietar

On free runners I'd regularly hit the 1 hour limit. Took some time to set up self-hosted through EC2 and really optimize caching, its now down to 10-20 mins, depending on the repo. Most of that is because of the self-hosted runners, th
