I was expecting something similar. I know of rockwool for it's insulative and sound absorption properties, I'd never thought of it as a fiber suitible for textiles. I was hoping to learn some intersting properties about rockwool f

It sounds like what happens in every other instance of engineering: trade-offs. Emphasise performance in one metric -- preventing roof collapse and preserving the integrity of the passenger compartment in this case -- and it can come at the

Likewise. I don't know how many times I'd observed this phenomenon, and made the right conclusion (that thing's gonna hit me!). It was just another thing I intuitively did, without fully conciously knowing what it was or how

As the article says, the bill, as is, is too radical to pass. But I'd wager that's intentional. Knowing that negotiation will have to happen in order to get the bill passed, he proposed something extreme, so it would still be clos

It would be nice to know which older CPUs are affected. Do I have to worry about my Fam 10h processors getting bricked, or just my K-7 and K-8 systems?

I think it's fair to say that different people have different thresholds for "bricked" depending on their awareness, willingness, and ability with regard to various repair techniques that may be to hand. To my mother, a virus

I'll have to take a look at this later when I get home. (I forget what my residential IP is, so I can't easily check this from work.) I've not been on any torrents for some years, so unless my roommate is downloading things,

While I like the idea, a potential problem comes to mind. A list of what domains are tracking domains will need to be maintained. The need to maintain that list will possibly move the cat-and-mouse game of ads vs ad-blockers to the tracking

I discovered this site years ago, when searching for information about how to season cast iron. I had a cast iron skillet I'd been using off and on for a few years at that point, but was still having trouble with food sticking, and so

Do you have any local friends who have the space & time to deal with lye or electrolysis? They might be willing to do so in exchange for a few beers or maybe a steak cooked in said cast iron skillet. Another thought that comes to mind:

So, now that the concept has been proven, are we going to see a proper RFC proposal to standardize this? There's still 110 days left for submissions. That should be plenty of time to test what string types and electrolytes work best fo

Per the article, increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere are causing plants to produce more sugars in favor of the (micro)nutrients they'd otherwise have, causing a relative drop in those nutrients. Okay. That makes sense. However, pla
