I'm sad to see you downvoted. Its frustrating to me too when a company like Apple champions human rights in the USA then hands over the management of iCloud to China. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208351

A Chinese company controls the icloud data. That's a backdoor if I've ever heard of one. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208351

Well one thought is seeing if the Pine Community would be interested in working on this. They seem to be in the business of making Linux style things, and I wonder if this would be up their alley.

I have a Gen 2, and there are some firmware warts, but it works reasonably well. Sadly, their new offerings all use Android, so now I have all of the hassles of a Phone (spying, out of date, etc.) in my mp3 player! I just want a simple self

There are a bunch of niche ones still, they either go way low end or way high end. I have a FiiO X5 for my "regular" mp3 player and a Sansa Clip Sport for my workout one. Sadly, I work a daytime job and don't really have the

They are, but they are no longer being manufactured. They have the Clip Zip/Sport, and Rockbox is no longer supported on them. I use a CLip Sport for workouts, but they are not nearly as good as the Clip+

I really wish I had more of the know how to make a Kickstarter/Crowd Supply for this. I imagine an mp3 player with native Rockbox support would be very popular, especially in the form factor of an iPod and/or a Sansa Clip.

However, the repository was for convenience. Nothing stops you from adding a new repository to install new apps. You simple have no choice with iOS on that front.

You are correct. However, that doesn't make the cipher insecure. The reason I make this distinction is because it makes other attack vectors different. If the cipher was made insecure, then the whole thing couldn't be trusted beca

I'd suspect it's a "tack on" experiement. They were doing a bunch of experiments and wanted to see if a plant could even germinate in a low gravity environment. Now that they know it can germinate, it is worth the money
