I don't mind the downvotes. I get it - it is a hard pill to swallow, especially when so many identify with being a programmer.

> It’s not clear whether AI will take our programming jobs I think it's safe to say it is pretty clear. As an example, you can power 10 developers with the highest tier of Claude Code Max for a year under the price of a new develope

Sure, but what defined Amigas were 7-8 MHz CPUs with a lot of dedicated chips for graphics, audio, etc.

It is still unclear to me what the author wants to build. The story is cool to the level hippies-on-a-boat can be, but I'm unsure of its message, apart from software requiring internet can be tricky while at seas.

I ran out of Opus this week in 2-3 hour of use with the 100/month sub. It was not particularly heavy use, either.

No. If you want use Claude anything serious, you will need the 200/month subscription. I have tried them all and you will run out of Opus too quickly with the lesser ones on a daily basis.

Exactly this. In my view people over-think the use of Claude in many cases.

I think it can already replace mid-level engineers, based on my experience. Also, you really don't need meticulously crafted specs for this - I've completed multiple projects with Claude with loose specs, iterating in case the dir

I think the guidelines look over-engineered. I'm getting good results with a bare minimum set of instructions, such as "use spaces instead of tabs. This is in C++/Python and computer vision.

When clicking Regenerate, it would be great if the sequence kept playing if Play was active at that time.

Sounds complicated, to be honest. Could this not be achieved easier via monocular depth estimation, for example?

The article reads like a semi-slop with its numerous lists and overly long explanations of obvious things, such as how XML came to be.

Not bad. The closest competition would be NDI from NewTek, now Vizrt. It targets similar bitrate and latency ranges.

Have fun maintaining a slop blob. It's not just about the craft. It's about understability, explainability and accountability.

Exactly. Not sure why it would be better to run Rust on Nvidia GPUs compared to actual CUDA code. I get the idea of added abstraction, but do think it becomes a bit jack-of-all-tradesey.
