Maybe just an authentication-based issue. Things like Bcryot are designed to be resource-intensive on purpose, with default difficulties usually causing hash rates of 10-20 per second per core.

How does this go with running the JS on the SPAs that make up a large portion of the web today?

Possibly. My experiences have all been from Australia.

None of this is true on any issue I’ve had with computers, phones or accessories. Always fast, always cover everything. Although I would never provide a computer that wasn’t wiped that’s just good opsec and takes less than an hour to reimag

Pay the $169 and get 3 years of AppleCare. Easy.

Apple is already massively undervalued. $884B market cap. $150B in free cash (which you can effectively take off the top of the market cap). So an adjusted market cap of $734B. A net income after tax (yes, they still pay tax) of $48B. So an

LOL… Apple does NOT pay 4% on its debt. It's effective combined interest is 2.38%. In my naive back-of-the-envelope calculations, it would have to hold this debt in a non-tax-effective way for more than a decade to be worse off with th

Yeah, mid-to-senior dev jobs in Melbourne and Sydney are going for $150k+ right now.

You need to look at some of the work iRobot has done with Serverless. AWS has tools to manage all of this and do so at scale. By the time you need to SSH into a server to solve a problem, you’ve already failed.

Hardware will always fail at some point. You can either add extra resources elsewhere, or deal with that inevitable downtime. Both are reasonable, depending on the impact of downtime.

These things happen to every datacentre. That’s why AWS has multiple, separately managed regions that you can use to keep your app up with.

With multi-region redundancy only (as reduced redundancy is actually more expensive) and amazing integration and workflow options, B2 and S3 are not comparable products.

Fair enough then! :-) Surprised it’s cost effective to mine with commodity desktops and retail power though. ;-)

No, the bit that is different about Fanout is that the HTTP servers don’t need to necessarily know about the fact they’re coming from a persistent connection. The backend servers remain as stateless HTTP servers.

Yeah, they’re good, but more expensive than you’d expect given the relative pricing compared to other AWS services. $0.025/1000 transitions seems and order of magnitude or two high given it’s just ultimately a central job store with so

And then kill everyone involved in the project to prevent them from whistleblowing.

Probably not. Intra-AZ traffic in AWS has always been free and intra-region has always been pretty cheap.

Lack of foreign keys does not effect performance. In fact, having foreign keys is a net-negative performance-wise because it means that each foreign key must be checked for every insert/update/delete.

And how is revealing where you work and that they have offices privileged enough that you aren't prepared to name them?

Make no mistake. Snap's (relatively early) IPO wasn't to raise capital for further expansion, it was to ensure founders had easy access to liquidity in a service they knew wouldn't thrive over the next 5-10 years.

Hardware always fails. That's why AWS has so many availability zones, regions and services that let you take easy advantage of HA across them.

One region isn't going to be effected by fire. And AWS have dozens of regions. They're even managed as separate units by separate people. You'll notice there's never been a large, multi-region outage of AWS.
