Too much money soaked up by Uber, AirBNB, Lyft, Blue Apron, etc. Slightly off-topic… is Uber now "too big to fail" for the VCs invested in it?

Pretty sure both GitHub Enterprise and BitBucket Server are the dominant self-hosted Git solutions.

Oh. I see this might've just been a typo. Agree with the 1Tbps+ figure for external bandwidth (and maybe 300%+ on that internally and between regions).

How is replacing their entire engineering staff cheaper?

Well over. 500TB a month is only 250KB per active user.

Don't know about anything else, but saw their cut is 15%. Not sure which side it gets added on though, although it doesn't really matter in the long run.

Sorry, don't know why I always get MoneyDesktop and HelloWallet confused. :( Cool… keep on trucking! :) BTW, I don't suppose you have Australian/NZ support?

Didn't Morningstar just sell you to a bank though? Is your product still going to be on the open market in 6 months time?

Who cares. Shareholders will do whatever they want. The sharemarket isn't rational. Hopefully the board is though.

Probably because you could just dump them in an external TB case and get close to internal performance from them.

Can someone suggest a federated protocol for password changing so my password manager can rotate passwords on my behalf in breaches and just every month or so?

I love Trello and used it a lot (before we moved on to something different and easier to understand for most people). However, even when it was important to our business and we had around 12 users (I know, still relatively small) using it,

EC2 doesn't do any kind of live machine migration. The only times a machine may start on a different host is if it is stopped and then started. Even reboots don't allow them to move. You see this a lot when AWS lets you know about

You specify the run region for each of those services and all the other components get restricted to those regions too. We're in ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) and none of our services were impacted yesterday.

Video pros need high-end, fast, high-memory machines with fast storage. 99% of us developers don't. Even if you have a lot of VMs.

But hand rolling is also hard and annoying to support if you want to support long-name options and short name optionals, out of order with potential spaces in odd places that still work as most users will expect them to along with reasonabl

I can understand an initial mail product not having deduplication implemented, but to get to 1PB let alone 50PB before implementing this seems a little extreme. Glad they were able to avoid upgrading for a while now. :)
