   I would expect a "Referer" value to be empty in both cases: - directly navigating to a URL after doing a copy-paste - opening a link from an email

   This is the relevant bug report: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=734643 Apparently, it has something to do with the UI rendering the selected items, and not with the database.
