There is a solution for that: family sharing. Make him his own account, activate it as family on yours, and the only limitation will be that you can’t play the same game at the same time.

From my experience, the only thing teams does mostly better than the alternatives, is the moment you're actually in a call. The audio quality seems to better than something like slack or alternatives in my experience. But once out of a

One of the problems is that by definition, digital assets can be replicated at a virtual zero-cost. There is no "original" copy to be owned, since a digital asset that is uploaded is already a copy of a copy of a copy of some bits

Same in Belgium. I don't use whatsapp, but had it installed. When I said I don't use it - people gave me weird looks and were annoyed. Now this has been replaced by a "oh so you use signal?" reaction. The whole situation

The main problem is not Amazon using the Elasticsearch product, but using the Elasticsearch trademark without permission, even creating a fork with that trademark in it. That is not OK. And then doing stuff like this: > When Amazon annou

JVM overhead is overrated. And I say that as someone who's not particularly fond of the JVM. Elasticsearch is one of those projects where the JVM is not the issue. Of all the projects you mention however, only Toshi addresses clusterin

Sorry, but when the DAC can be tuned to the specific hardware, and the engineers know what the hell they are doing, the result can be pretty damn impressive. This is the reason modern active bookshelf speakers like the Klipsch The Fives pun

The whole reason this is required, is because creditcards are inherently insecure, by just requiring a number and an expiration date. EMV was supposed to fix this on card-level, but missed the importance of online payments completely. In Eu

Yeah I followed Docker from the very beginning, and this was also what I remembered. The biggest incident, if I remember well, was related to the layerfs stuff, which was supported by Ubuntu, but which RH refused to include. Instead they pr

The thing is not just "ARM", it's Apple's implementation. Their A* mobile cpu lineup destroys any competing mobile ARM CPU, and the M1 evolved from that. So just running ARM isn't going to save anyone.

I understand the machine is great or going to be great for most use cases. My mbp is my main workhorse, but as a freelance SRE "devops" guy, the Apple ARM platform won't be suitable for my job any time soon, if ever. Docker i

From an operations POV, GraphQL is far from ideal. Every "GET" operation is a POST, there is no introspection and debugging requests is horrible. There are caching issues, and you need decent metrics and tracing across your entire

If you read between the lines, it's AMD's allocation of TSMC capacity that pushed nVidia out to samsung... TSMC has to spit out Zen3, RX6000, plus the custom versions for XBX and PS5, all around the same time...
