So a volume? These are several hundred objects travelling with enough momentum to do catastrophic damage to launch vehicles and other orbiting equipment. They’re not icebergs floating on the ocean, they’re bullets whizzing through that volu

Use CMD ~ to move between the windows of the current app. I’ve also mapped a four finger down gesture to open App exposé.

Blender is awesome. It really is one of the best open source projects out there. While it had a reputation for being inaccessible this hasn’t been the case for a long time and 2.8 makes it even easier.

While I fully agree, moving from 2.7* to 2.8 default bindings is killing my muscle memory! I’ll get there eventually. For me eevee is probably going to make a huge difference, I throw together various renders and animations and bits of code

This is probably most useful for postgrad students getting started with writing with TeX. It’s worth pointing out that the figures are made using the matplotlib library, which is primarily based on Matlab’s plotting functionality. This is p

Thank you. My initial guess from the title was some sort of fun hack to increase the storage density with cryogenics.

Many a PhD was rescued with Knoppix. So many people never made backups and so many shitty Dells died during the lifetime of so many of my cohort’s studies. Fortunately I was able to get their data back but nobody seemed to learn. This was a

So it’s okay for England to colonise half the planet and then get upset when some of their subjects move there? The fact is that crime in Europe has utterly collapsed.

I never said it would decrease either, I said that better social policy would reduce the need for surveillance and aggressive policing — which seem to be more reactionary and designed to appease the typical Daily Mail reader. There are a lo

There appears to be a good bit of literature on the Stop and Search tactic[0] and also the examples of the harassment of law abiding photographers in the U.K.[1] It’s race to the bottom policing that’s approaching the US model. Assume ever

Of course, it’s not something I would normally watch. It is however very popular with my parents generation. They get very invested in the whole idea of the world falling apart when the data shows that crime is falling.
