I’m currently playing through the original Doom games on Switch. They’re a lot of fun still! Even Doom 3, the weakest of the series, is very enjoyable in handheld mode. They also don’t constantly nag you or hold your hand.

I had an intermittent printer issue recently. As a Mac user I have to submit jobs to the University printers via a web portal. I try to print very little so it’s not something I use a lot, however I end up printing large numbers of midterm

On MacOS 10.15 Catalina, iTunes is replaced by various Music, podcasts, Apple TV apps with device management moved to the Finder. iTunes is still a thing on Windows.

Dredd, while an excellent movie in general, really was a very good example of 3D cinema. I attribute it to the way the slo-mo effect reset the 3D perception in my mind. I remember going to see one of the Abrams Star Trek movies in 3D and at

My father is an agricultural mechanic here in Ireland. Lots of farmers here use very old tractors. It’s not unusual to see David Brownes, Case Internationals, Massey Fergusons, John Deeres and Zetors going back 20 – 30 years or more. There’

In some ways Photoshop is losing relevance in the creative space. Adobe’s rent seeking has pissed off a lot of people and upstarts like Krita, DaVinci Resolve and Serif are making waves. Affinity Photo and Designer offer strong Photoshop an

Emojis are at least colourful and shaded. Maybe if the set of them increases as the rate they are currently we can have them as icons in our UIs. And as the sibling post pointed out it’s all Unicode.

You can set the amount of force required for 3D Touch in settings. It’s a feature I liked, it behaved like a right click in many instances. Also its double action made text selection easy.

Isn’t this part of the (awful) GeForce experience app? You can still just download drivers directly from the Nvidia webpage without logging in.

The NS momentum equation is just Newton’s second law written for all the forces acting on a fluid. We just don’t know if it always works.

It’s a great game that was let down by its rapidly refreshing outposts which made traversing the world a chore. Fortunately I believe there are mods to fix this. The immersion really was great. I loved pulling out my map while driving and

Wasn’t the problem in The Witcher 3 the necrophage infestation that prevented anyone from looting the corpses? That is why you were given the task of clearing them out. I remember spending far too long looting there on my play through.

Here’s what happened to me recently. I’m cycling home on a dark wet Friday evening. My commute was 18km then and I was halfway home. I’m in a cycle lane doing maybe 20 km/h and traffic is all held up. I was doored before so I’m watchin

For low speed flows like in F1 the viscous effects are much larger and this can make flow prediction more difficult. It’s actually pretty easy to predict the shockwave pattern from 1D theory without the need for CFD [0]. The boundary layers
