When our kids arrived our SLRs and nice lenses quickly got relegated in favour of our iPhones. But we’re getting then back out once more bit by bit. I’m extremely happy with the cameras on my 11 Pro but it is nowhere near a 100mm f/2.8

I’ve had this issue for a long time now across a couple of versions of MacOS and three Macs. It appears to be related to Google Calendar. My current workaround is to hide a Mail window with CMD-h. I’ve given up trying to report it or find a

They used F-5’s as MiGs in lots of 80’s TV, even McGyver iirc. Probably related or repurposed footage.

It requires finding a (USB 2.0) cable, connecting both devices, approving trust, and then opening an App and selecting and waiting. AirDrop requires touch based selection and sharing on the iOS device and the transfer is very quick and if i

I’m curious, is there a reason to use image capture when you can just AirDrop the images? Does Image Capture give you the HEIC format file or something?

Siri is particularly dumb in this regard. Even something as simple as ‘play again’ will not always simply repeat a track. The inconsistency is infuriating. There are many more examples. Apple demoed the ability to ask for songs by asking Si

I was gifted a Hero 2018 when I left my last job. I use it for recording my cycle commute because I guess my death at the hands of a homicidal taxi driver should at least be recorded. It comes with a basic set of features. 1080p video and s

They added this functionality, or at least something similar, to Quick Look on MacOS Mojave. It’s very useful. https://support.apple.com/en-ie/guide/mac-help/mh14119/mac

I learned to love Photoshop and Illustrator after watching a lot of excellent training videos back in the day. I held it up against appallingly bad CAD software like a SolidWorks and Pro/Engineer. Adobe’s apps are utopia in comparison

I personally don’t see the use case, I can close all sensitive tabs or documents. But if that’s a problem then fine, perhaps an edge case though.

I haven’t had much time to try it. I like the add on because it handles viscosity and surface tension rather well.

This is very informative. I would think at the very least Blender would allow far more convenient means to construct a blockMeshDict when assembling simple geometries.

This new version of Blender comes with a new fluid solver called MantaFlow. There should be tutorials popping up on YouTube as I type. I use the FLIP fluid add on which comes with good documentation.

I would like to port OpenFOAM over to Blender. It’s very powerful software but a mess of dependencies and rubbish documentation. An implementation within Blender would make life so much easier.
