So the stereotype among engineers is that they dislike going into management. If you're not one of those engineers, how well do you (honestly) think you could step up to the CTO role? I've been reading about management and engineering manag

Appears to be sort of fixed? I think they're expiring them, but I'm not sure based on what. As of now, my search (#506811) appears to still work, as do a couple before it, including 506800. But search numbers 1, 2, 100000, 500000, 505000, 5

If you are on a Mac (like the OP), you might consider using FileVault. Then, use a very secure master password, write it down and keep it somewhere very, very, very safe. In the event you ever forget your password, you can unlock the encryp

Yeah, you can usually delete certs, at least in third-party browsers, even if they're built in. I'm not sure if you can delete any of the OS's built-in certs ('cept maybe on Linux); and I'm not sure I'd want to risk that. Verizon/GTE/whoeve

This is the description of public key cryptography, or as you referred to it, asymmetric cryptography. It is a different technique and solves a different problem from the other metaphor above by asmithmd1, which is for Diffie-Hellman(-Merkl

I used it for a while (and I still have accounts with them). It's pretty good, though it's composer can't create rich text/HTML email. (You can still read and view rich text/HTML email).

Can't speak for everyone else, but personally: The 2" of extra screen real-estate doesn't give me a huge benefit usually (not enough to put two windows side-by-side); but it does widen the laptop enough to make it harder to use in tight spa

The OP's link looks like an HTML dump of http://publications.gbdirect.co.uk/c_book/ , which I'm pretty sure is the original... (And there's also a PDF of all the pages, linked to from the gbdirect version, http://publications.gbdirect.co

Most modern browsers support HTML5 -- probably more than there is gears support, honestly. Gears is end-of-life'd. Even Google Chrome doesn't support Gears at this point. I'd go with HTML5.

This becomes a bigger problem when you're dealing with quoting. Suppose I wrote something like: "As MrCharles said above, it's a grey area, but...". So then what? Do we scrub all mentions of your username down the thread? What about typos?
