It's interesting to me that so many people want confirmations. You can remove yourself from any repository you wish at https://github.com/account/repositories (yes, I know — this is a confusing place. It's something I'd like to improve)

I've spent a lot of time thinking through this problem. I agree Git is broken. So is Mercurial, Bazaar, subversion and CVS — they're just different flavors of broken (as in they each taste less broken to different groups of people). Version

Judging by the numbers, the Python community as a whole vastly prefers Git. Check the total # of projects at BitBucket vs # of Python projects on GitHub for example. Edit: No idea why this is getting downvoted. I'm just saying look at the

We ignore libraries. People consistently underestimate how much Javascript they're writing. Most modern web apps are (rightfully!) Javascript projects.

As mentioned earlier, the data is in our API and freely exportable (no loss of data). If you don't want to deal with the API – please contact support and we'll be happy to export the list of issues in order for you. Alternately, you can use

You can bulk select — try it. Check one issue, hold shift, click one further down. Colors of tags are definitely displayed in the issues list view - right to the left on the label itself, or full width in the case it's selected.

You'd think, but that's all my boy Cameron Mcefee. Wrote down some ideas on a wiki page and he showed up with this a couple weeks later :)

I think you might be mistaking our load balancers with our frontends. Our frontend servers run the Rails application (as well as other applications like the Sinatra app running http://jobs.github.com ). Additionally, they also run all of o

If you've spent 14 years designing and never even tried to design a site in Photoshop I can't possibly fathom how you could have an opinion of the process. Agree or not, try new things. Try old things. Make an informed decision.

Stop tracking what days people are working & what days they aren't and you'll realize you've missed the whole point of "no vacations" We don't have vacations because we judge people by what they do — not how often they're working.

Or maybe we're just testing out a new feature we just built that might be a bit bigger than 30-days free micro before we start pushing it out more. You never know.

The entire concept of the SSL icon is so that a user can trust a third party (web developer) that they don't know. If it's up to you (the web developer) — it's all up in the air again. And the icon/warnings are pointless. Which is where I'
