Did any depositors loose money in 2008 from bank failures? If not when was the last time regular depositors lost money?

The point is that you need to pay your tax in dollars. This means you and everyone else need to acquire dollars to pay taxes. This creates demand.

From what I have heard the fact that European gas storage is full is nice but not really all that meaningful. The gas storage is only large enough to last a week or something in that magnitude.

You mean like right now? I understand this is a bit snarky, but I think it perfectly makes my point clear. By some metrics right now looks like a golden age, by other metrics it looks like staring into the abyss.

Same here, just the whole hassle and knowing that the ice cream/coffee/cookie is going to be significantly more expensive is putting me off enough to sometimes to just avoid the whole thing. Good for my diet I guess.

That’s the thing that makes me question the whole Keynesian/ interest rate setting problem, you cannot know if you are living in good times are bad times. That requires knowledge of the future. Let’s say all of this is due to the war i

That makes sense, but I think there will be lots of uncertainty in the company after the first wave of layoffs. It’s quite likely there will be more.

I struggle with uncertain, I struggle even more with not being able to pay the bills. I think I’m not alone. Uncertainty is important in general but right here right now I’ll take it.

The article completely misses the point. Some middlemen like Twitter or Facebook does not want to be associated with certain images or point of view, perhaps because of advertising or user demographics or whatever reason, and they decide wh

First, no your statement is not true. You cannot hide expenses in third party companies and suddenly they are not overhead. Second imagine two companies: - (a) One uses all the extra money on providing nets and delivering them to users in a

But I don't want nets, I want people to be helped by nets and that requires a lot of work. So the efficiency of a charity is a way of saying that if you give $10, that means $10*efficiency nets in hands of people that need them. Althou

Not really, let’s say the charity is for providing mosquito nets against malaria. The expectation is that any donation goes to providing more nets and not to pay for expenses and wages.
