So you are right on the general principle (at least I think so), that healthcare should just be available for everyone etc. That is not the case in the US. But as a software engineer in the US it is not a worry. Like not at all.

You are mistaken, in the good plans all they do is serve as a middleman that pays most of the bills, and all the bills after a certain number. Having lived in London, NYC and SF and broken bones in all locations I can say if I could choose

Not sure why parent is downvoted, as a European that has lived in Zurich, London and Oslo + NYC and SF healthcare cost is a non-issue for those of us lucky enough to work at a company that provides healthcare. This applied from what I under

I think most countries have some form of student sports as part of universities, just not the kind of professional ones like in the U.S. students study better if they have something else in their lives. The problem is that it is really hard

This is just silly, US military dominance is not anywhere close to up for grabs. They US might not have total dominance anywhere on earth anymore due to asymmetric weapons, but in a big fight the US is far and away the biggest dog still. It

Sure, in that sense it’s “fair”. It’s also meaningless, as this example shows most people will not make a really great product if there is no upside for them so they will mail it in. So sure you can try to squeeze your employees but maybe i

This is true, but also misleading. There would not be more vaccines made if every country were overbidding, Israel is just moving ahead in the queue. It can do this because it is rich and is really tiny. The Israel strategy would only work
