Here's my hot take: they're victims of a pump-and-dump, only instead of enticed by the promise of a get-rich-quick scheme, they're experiencing groupthink while people encouraging and controlling this narrative are running aw

It's crazy to me that the open source world has completely standardized on a closed (and now Microsoft) product like GitHub. I'm sure someone would have implemented this feature for them by now if it was free software.

I mean, the article is pretty lean. It basically says, "Don't use OAuth because if you're locked out of your account on the OAuth provider, you won't be able to sign in." I don't disagree with that. I don'

I really dislike articles like these. I don't think the author is interested in having any kind of productive discussion or criticism. There's a million reasons to hate Kubernetes, the author couldn't be bothered to venture b

Golang does have https://proxy.golang.org/ , which is fairly recent, but yes this is absolutely a problem in Go. See the "go-bindata" problem.

A common practice is to introduce services that handle shared functionality. One common example is, instead of having a shared library that reads & verifies JWTs, use a gateway service that handles this before requests reach the upstrea

When can I buy a TV without smart features? I don't doubt that my smart TV is reporting some data about my usage, but I barely have a choice in the matter.

How accessible are open-source slack competitors like Mattermost? I feel for you. I'm blind in one eye and am at a pretty high risk of going blind in the other because of it. I do my best to make sure the things I build are accessible;
