You can generally use them to model a situation or improve it. For instance, if you're doing a dictionary, you'll be looking into a trie or Bloom filter, and it's generally like that I'm using it. Skiena's Algor

Yeah, we have to rely on cables, when the wi-fi isn't fast enough to transmit the video - or whatever is causing the laggy video.

Copy says >15Mb at the moment. Funky way to denote minimum - reminds me of the "Recommended" specs on a videogame. That rules out me, but it's a nice reminder of how much of an obstacle to innovation lack of broadband can

There's probably a bit of the Photoshop Effect going on, where companies are mostly interested in having their tool become the dominant one - and the dominant skill - in the industry over piracy litigation. We're in a perfect st

Nah, I think it had something like four levels for each programming language to advance through - and as I vaguely recall, a great, simple webdesign. I can't remember how much it focused on a hyperglot approach, but it featured a whole

I remember another polyglot website back in the day, which was more prosaic than this overview. It was absolutely fantastic, but I can't for the life of me remember the URL. If it hasn't been updated, it probably won't have t

I use Evernote's Readly. Quite lovely, but the customization isn't the best compared to Readability. I prefer having an extension/built-in tool to a bookmarklet, though.

The upside of this is that Pebble get to rake in people's money for pre-orders - not a finished product - which means they manage to pre-empt Apple Watch stealing the show. The drive is going to run until ultimo March, with Apple Wat

Has anyone gotten the Bluetooth stuff to work on OS X? I tried hard, but never managed to. To be fair, Bluetooth pairing between iOS and OS X hasn't been the most pleasant experience in general. -- Authy is a fine app, but the main sel

It's been a long time since I used Ghostery, but the most common problem were JS trigger events from clicking a button that didn't fire. It made it a bit of a pain to debug.

Ghostery breaks so much stuff, I don't know how people can bother. I've found that Privacy Badger does a great job of blocking third-party tools in a way that rarely breaks anything - in which case it's easy to turn off. That
