For me, Dropbox is the iTunes of file synchronization; I have to use it, but it's such a pain. It takes minutes to finish indexing on startup, and it occasionally decides to take up all my CPU, which has forced me to disable it on star

They should just hire someone to explain these things. A video goes a long way.

I think it's a little funny and symptomatic of HN that we can't take a minute to fucking marvel at the fact that we've got something like this in the first place without going over the font or the whatever. Technology is amaz

There's also the podcast with the same name for those who'd rather listen to that than to read this ... presentation of it.

Companies and industries make purchasing decisions that lock them in for several years, so Apple probably finally got their head out of their ass as they could see people heading in another direction. Once you've spent five years trans

That's why we use DNSSEC. :) Again, I deal in relatives, not absolutes, so I'm content with a solution that's comparably better than completely delegating to third parties.

I got my own personal e-mail, after I saw stories about Google randomly shutting down people's Google accounts after weird YouTube disputes. This way, I can just keep directing e-mails to another address. Same goes for websites; I can

YouTube's authentication system is extremely annoying; you can't attach your phone number to more than two accounts. Does anyone know if you can select a Twilio trial number from a different country than your own?

S3 also has a built-in function to perform a Lambda operation on each upload, which makes it more confusing. I mean, the README is excellently written and makes clear what the project does, so it's not a big deal beyond the ambiguous n

Word of advice: name your .js file after its versioning (or use ?v=x.y.z in the src), because some updates break older code. I had to go through all the versions at one point to make my old code work again, because I'd used a remote CD

Sweet project. The equalizer is going to make it seem a little repetitive, but I'm sure you've got other equalizers planned. A lyrics-based music video generator would be a cool thing to tackle, although that'd require timest

I see zero reason to upgrade my 5S. I just have not seen a compelling selling point for the later models compared to all the major overhauls phones like the 4 and 5 represented. There's the form factor I guess, but everything just feel

Doesn't seem to have an option to add tabs to existing sessions. I take it the workflow for this requires you to open the session and re-save it with the remaining tabs?

That's an awesome site, but it's not the one I failed to remember. That one had a few pages for each language showing you lists and the like. Will bookmark this, though.

The Nordic countries and Finland have the highest proficiency in English as a foreign language, so you'll have no problem communicating with them. And the Duolingo app has Norwegian, too. :)

The GIFs are fine - although I get the impression that they weren't put through an optimizer. Converting GIFs to autoplay=false videos is still a miserable experience with kinda awful results. Not to mention that it takes forever.
