You can talk about your own products and services, and disparage others’; in other words, it is a spammers’ paradise. Same argument was used against Wikipedia back in the day.

There's a difference between writing with the sole aim of getting it out first (so that TechMeme gets you first or you get the most retweets) and writing a good analysis of a story. That's why, imho, blogs can never replace real publication

At least that’s the theory. In reality I think this site has about a snowflake’s chance in the white hot cauldron of a collapsing star, and it’ll probably be overwhelmed by porn merchants faster than you can say “charge for online video.”

There's a Quora topic page with fascinating detail on the subject. It was made more specifically to answer how Mark still controls 26% of the company. http://www.quora.com/How-did-Mark-Zuckerberg-retain-26-of-eq...

Quora's relevance and absolute focus on completely revolutionizing the Q&A sector is fascinating. They've done so many innovations in that space. Counting that as an innovation to blogging seems too far-fetched...

I don't understand why we can't apply what he seems to suggest (treating governments and politics in a smart efficient manner) without navigating the high seas and creating new land. That's just giving up on all the land we already have. Th

More than anything, I'm just impressed that this made it to the 50+ campuses without the tech world having any clue. edit: ...and I'm in college. I wonder if this says anything about me :P

I'm in the same boat, mate. I'm a Junior majoring in Computer Science and Engineering. Lately, I've been getting more and more frustrated at my complete lack of time that I can devote to doing what I actually care about: starting up TextMat

The actual code doesn't matter. It's the tens of thousands of man hours that have been spent creating one of the best indexes with careful tags for millions of pages. The data's what makes Delicious matter. And, if you open-source the data,

Any idea on how much money Yahoo's actually losing by just running Delicious? Side note: I've always wondered why Yahoo hasn't tapped into the vast amount of good data that is Delicious to supplement and improve their search engine? Talk ab

Favorite part: "And we're proud of the fact that we don't load Optimus 7 with a lot of "LG apps" or a fancy animated UI which gets old in a few weeks. :-) " Nice little jab at HTC there.
