You have to be passionate about the specific sounds a synth offers to buy any synth at a $5k or $10k price tag. The OB-X8 from Sequential sounds fantastic but it still only gives you the palette of an analog polysynth for $5k. You have to b

Laws are being passed across the country which ban, or attempt to ban the practice. This is being done on a state-by-state basis.

It's a slow process fixing it, and the police departments don't want it fixed, and the police departments have a lot of leverage. It is slowly being fixed, however.

When the problem can never be resolved, you redefine the problem until you find a version of the problem with a good solution. So if the problem is that software is hard to estimate, which is hard, we redefine the problem to something like

The Butcher did not always show up. It just had a 2/3 chance of showing up. It’s easy to test for yourself, because you can restart the game and you only have to walk as far as the cathedral entrance to see if the quest appeared. It al

People live in NY, raise families, with less income. I don't know what your impression of NY is but your preferences of neighborhood and your lifestyle choices have a massive impact on your cost of living.

The way Reddit displays content is basically all caches, as far as I can tell. Every query you do is supposed to directly hit a cache of 1000 objects (like comments or posts). You can’t go past 1000, either through the web interface or thro

I see what you are talking about, but I don’t think it makes Reddit interesting. It’s kind of like having a bunch of different HOA boards, all fighting over how to mow the lawns or what colors to paint the houses in their respective communi

The good places on Reddit, with tight moderation, are few and far between. I can think of r/AskHistorians, but there are not many like it (I can’t think of another, off the top of my head). Maybe you know of other examples?

I don’t get the “completely inept” or “valid, urgent reason” dilemma. The decisions Reddit leadership is making seem foreseeable / obvious, under the assumption that they own lots of Reddit stock and want an IPO.

I don't think that there's any secret sauce or moat, it's just kind of a weird niche. Multi-engine synths / grooveboxes are getting more common. You see stuff like the Roland SH-4d, or the various options from Elektron.

Yeah, the OP-1 fills a weird niche. People talk about the $2,000 price tag (for the field) as being hard to justify. I feel the same way, but I do have some synths in the $2,000+ price range. In that price range, you can get a high-qualit
