I don't see the win on top of github here, they're both "public" services, and github is designed specifically to host git repos. With dropbox you commit and wait for your code to sync; with git push you are synced as soon as the command c

There are a few factors to consider here. First, the Spanish housing bubble appears several times larger than in the US, and prices may still have a long way down to go: http://www.economist.com/blogs/freeexchange/2010/10/global_h... Nex

It's not quite as shocking when you compare with overall revenues. For example, Delta had $28B in 2009 revenues compared with $482M in baggage fees, for just under 2% of total revenues. As a side note, as long as you can get your bag throug

The title is flat wrong, my opinion of GoDaddy actually improved from reading his rant. What I don't understand is how someone with a modicum of technical skill could expect anything from a GoDaddy shared hosting account.

the connection time makes it relatively slow (on the order of a few milliseconds), but you can write to multiple keys at once, and/or multithread your client.

Funny - I use amazon simpleDB/RDS in the exact same way - the index on RDS makes insertion really slow, so I use simpleDB as a cache and load into RDS nightly.

It would be a straw man attack if the author had proceeded to logically refute his own satire and claim it was a refutation of Tim's methods. Note: the above would have to be done without breaking a smile.

RentMineOnline ( http://www.rentmineonline.com ) - we work out of the Presidio, great views, easy parking. We're could use another full-time engineer, ideally a back-end developer (RoR) who isn't afraid to dive into some javascript or html.

I think you got downmodded for whining about other people whining - clearly you have no problem complaining about things you don't like, so let us do the same. FWIW, I buy and love apple products, I just like to tinker as well.

I agree with the basic idea - large brands shouldn't have to pay the usual Groupon-style 50% margins, but they probably don't - LivingSocial/Groupon likely offer large brands heavy discounts, like a cross-promotion. And I'm sure Groupon is

I just don't see how that relates to "don't dork it up." The insights gained through your own experience are interesting, but taken as a coherent piece of writing I'd say you dorked it up.
