I've reread this a few times and I'm not sure if it's referring to me, or which position you're implying that person is taking. But my view would be people don't choose to be pedophiles. I believe it's fairly w

The flaw with these kinds of statements is that it assumes the 70% is uniformly distributed throughout a population. Obviously, if an entire town decides to avoid vaccination, it'll be vulnerable. Less obvious is if certain social circ

I admit I didn't read it carefully enough to notice he was let go. I thought it was voluntary. I'd wonder how much that influenced his opinion retroactively haha.

I wouldn't generalize this outside of the consulting world. But many junior consultants who say they aren't good at excel just haven't done any sort of quantitative analysis and they wouldn't know where to start.

I guess I would follow that up by saying development of festishes is not the same thing as base sexual orientation. I also don't think this would be easy to study at all. Furries might be a good candidate population to study.

Seems to me the $16k was BCG concerned because this person was a vulnerable demographic and they didn't want to be sued, not being spoken poorly of. I've never heard of something like that either way. I'm a data scientist con

Nobody should be banned, hands down, from working at a company, generically (that is. legally unemployable). But companies are run by people. And people make decisions about who is allowed to work in their company specifically. It's no

Now you're conflating a crime that was committed vs. an uncovered privately held belief. Visiting a repentant criminal doesn't condone their crime, obviously. Visiting a rapist who speaks freely, or privately just to you, about ho

If you employ jack and jill, and jack tells jill he wants her to be killed, your relationship with jack is not isolated. The way you treat jack signals whether you think it is important that jack hates jill. If you go grab a beer with jack

I think its perfectly fine to shun people if you think they're awful. Continuing association with someone who is, for example, is supportive of ethnic cleansing, is expressing that you condone those things. Choosing not to decide is st

Captain America is generally about the conflict between patriotism and government loyalty. For a superhero movie, I'd say it's more thematically interesting than most. Government != political though.

I think the risk of a car missing a speed sign, or misinterpreting one, or reading something that looks like a speed limit sign but isn't, is a much bigger threat.

Genuine question. Does Christian god forgive everyone? Or only the repentant? Or only the baptized-believer-repentent? If the answer to the first question isn't yes, can you still go to hell with god's forgiveness?
