Would never consider this after getting rug pulled when Google abandoned the search appliance. That was fun.

Hope nobody fell for it and took the relocation. More than likely they will just pip or lay you off soon after arriving. “We noticed your performance slipping. Please give us a status report in blocks of 15 minutes daily.”

You nailed it. What do you do when you have cloud cover for two weeks in a row? It’s not unheard of when some areas have 200+ days of at least some cloud coverage. Nuclear is essential to avoid using coal and not having regional rolling bla

Except you can totally use a DJI drone for war. I saw a video the other day of such a drone modified to drop airsoft grenades. Does not take much to replace it with the real thing.

Kernel-level anti-cheat does not work in Linux and I think that is a good thing. Should you really trust some random game company to have essentially root/admin on your computer? They are not a very trustworthy group of people... If yo

Note: I am going to set aside politics… Agree a Pocket is more flexible, but this appears to be a love letter to the GameBoy Color. It has a magnesium body, sapphire crystal for the screen and they claim a custom LCD that works well in sunl

What’s the point really? Microsoft has a habit of re-enabling all telemetry with Windows update which is really annoying to block or disable. They will do the same with Recall and just say it’s a bug that turned it back on.

The idea that Sony is already going to launch a mid-cycle “Pro” refresh of the PS5 seems like madness. Do they really want to further divide their customer base? There are so few exclusive games to play on a PS5 it’s hardly worth it. I say

Even bigger expense, bringing bedbugs back home from sitting in the nasty and never cleaned seats. Worth it to just see it at home. Times have changed and going to the movie theater is not what it used to be.

One tip is you can ask chatgpt which of your custom rules it can follow. This will help you not waste space with rules it will just ignore. For example, it will not follow rules telling chatgpt to not tell you it’s an AI.

Things seem to be speeding up though. Look at the short period of time we went from flying a basic plane to landing on the moon. It was not hundreds of years between those two events. Perhaps as human population grows the "by chance&qu

I suspect that people doing the interviews will do the same thing so they can appear to be an expert in all subject matter. It will be even harder than before to land a job without friends on the inside of the company vouching for you.

Things are rapidly changing in the US. Getting a high paying 100% WFH job only a very small percentage of folks can land. The rest are sitting in (hours of) traffic or on a dangerous underfunded pub trans system to get to work every day.

I think pricing is really important for these X Elite laptops to be worth it. If the price is north of $800, you might as well get a laptop with dedicated Nvidia GPU that will give you much better performance.

Apple every few years will pretend to care about games to get people to buy their hardware. They have been doing this since at least the 90s with games like Quake. They talk a big game about how things will change, but it’s empty promises.
