These jobs are not hard on the back, they are hard on the soul. Tilling a field can feel rewarding at the end of the day. Dealing with the living nightmare that is most Walmart shoppers is soul crushing. Your viewpoint is rather callous. Ju

Pretty intellectually dishonest to ignore the massive amount of “undocumented” immigration happening in the US. Nobody absorbs more immigrants. Full stop.

Zero sympathy for Reddit and devs. I solved the hostile front end issue by never looking at Reddit anymore. You can't really trust that website anyways due to past privacy problems: https://www.theverge.com/2016/11

This is one of the reasons we migrated away. It's pretty easy to go from 20.04 --> 22.04 without having to reinstall your OS. I have taken long lived machines from 18.04 --> 20.04 --> 22.04. The idea that EL charges money with

Yup. I was working on a migration to CentOS ~8.2 before we got rugpulled. Took the opportunity to move to Ubuntu/Debian. If we have to do all this work, might as well change distro's.

Yup. As long as this crowd can keep making their mortgage payments they will never really be motivated to sell and move into a larger home. This will keep inventory low on what used to be called "starter" homes for likely the rest

Sorry, no bailout without ownership. Go borrow money against a percentage ownership of the companies. This is getting absurd at this point. SV arrogance finds a new high water mark.

It’s not. I know people that that had nothing, moved to the US and now own multiple homes now after doing well in tech. Life in the US is not easy, but it seems like upward mobility is still easier than most of Europe. Sure it’s great in Eu

I bought one oculus quest 2 while their site was blowing up during preorders. They shipped and charged me for 3. Nothing showed up on the order page or confirmation email. I didn’t notice the 3 charges until 3 of them were at my door. A tot

This will result in an immediate ban by Airbnb. I got screwed by Oculus and spent almost half a year getting my account back after a chargeback ban. Don’t ever chargeback big tech. You will lose every time.

The US is a net food exporter. What you are saying is propaganda, not fact. The US is the largest food-Aid donator. The US has shipped millions of pounds of food around the world to feed people… for free. We are talking billions a year in s

Sorta doubt it in already HCOL areas. Many of these grandchildren do not own a home. They will move in. There will be random 'old people' communities in Arizona that will get totally wrecked in value, but the expensive areas will

For many, $1500/mo is living in the streets level of income. I have family that collected early and get like $900/mo. It's grim. Medicare/Medicaid is not free at all. There are lots of things that cost you additional mon

I do 99% of my PC gaming with a Steam Deck. All the major games I am interested in "just work." If Elden Ring and most/all of my fav indie games work, I don't see why I will need a windows PC ever in the near future. I w

Go interview there. At a high enough level everyone you interview with is in mainland China. They are a Californian company only in name. The guys running the company are in China. They don’t even do a good job hiding it.

Yeah this is going to lead to me cancelling as well. Amazon takes up to 6 days now for “prime” shipping. Amazon is a garbage company that you can’t count on the items not being fakes/knockoffs.
