Why should I buy something else because other people can’t handle computers without training wheels? The befuddled kind grandmothers of the world can just not install/sideload alt stores. The most common way the elderly get scammed is

Hopefully we find out who the user “maxwellhill” really was. Can’t believe we never found out who one of the most influential Reddit users of time was.

Believe it or not being slightly late is commonly used to fire union employees in the US as well. Usually the union and business come to an agreement on such policies. These are then enforced with no exceptions. Even for 20 year employees.

Hearing all the struggles people like Louis Rossmann goes through in NYC, their local government is very dysfunctional when it comes to overseeing small businesses. It seems like a living nightmare. Fine I guess if you work for a large corp

Like others have said, the final game is different. One of the best games ever made with one of the most creative settings. Really loved the NPC companions. They were so deep and some of them you could make more powerful just by having a co

Spez assumes he has more power than Reddit users. He is likely right. Sadly. I wish people would just stop using that site and go back to web forums, but that is never happening. The average person enjoys the convenience of consolidation un

You can assume those groups feel the same way. Lock it down so bots cant mass crawl your watermarked thumbnails. If AI companies can hoover up all of Shutterstock’s photos their business is in real trouble. Do we know if google deleted all

All the companies are cutting off access so others can’t build chatGPT-like AI models from their “content.” The internet is going to be less open and less searchable going forward. Go look at google image search these days. Useless. Mostly

People seem to forget when the iPhone 1 came out it was the first device where the browser actually worked with almost all non-flash websites. I was on windows mobile before iPhone and the browsers were essentially useless. It was a game ch

Makes me sad none of this stuff really exists anymore. The South Bay Area is soulless and mostly closes at 9pm. If you need electronics you order from Amazon or Digikey like anywhere else in the US.

Yup and many of the US tech “rulers” (for lack of a better phrase) don’t even live in the country anymore. We (in the US) should all worry as they move to private islands/beaches/New Zealand.

If your singular job listing can somehow match both a junior and senior you are just fishing for a good deal, not actually looking for what you need. People looking for senior engineers are usually pretty direct about it. Like others said,

The amount of class warfare here is hilarious. Will you really parrot elite coined phrases like “laptop class?” What even is the laptop class? It’s a meaningless term created so it’s easier to dehumanize a group of people that have a massiv

Considering many bands and live acts now avoid the Bay Area, but heavily tour the mid-west I am going to have to disagree about it all being a negative living in the Midwest.

For live performances you can do a lot of this stuff with AUM. It’s awesome for chaining plug-ins in novel ways. Has midi support as well. It’s the main way I use plugins on iPad.

You keep posting this same point over and over in this thread. This “oops he tripped” variant is in really bad taste. You pan the article for going beyond the facts we know at this time and then come up with your own unfounded speculation…

Agreed. I don’t know if I could be on my feet 8 hours a day like when I worked retail. When you work in a big box store it’s easy to walk 8+ miles a day.
