Paxman can be quite aggressive, and I would say justifiably, with politicians trying to avoid answering a question. For another side of Paxman see this interview with Christopher Hitchens - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00r2c42

The title of the blog is ... "Linux Blog" and the author may very well have no time/resources/desire to check whether his writing is also applicable elsewhere.

I use KDE because I like my desktop set up the way I like it, not the way some developers think I should. (also Yakuake's, KDE terminal emulator, "Open window when the mouse pointer touches the screen edge" has become such a second nature t

Both parties don't come off well here - the buyer could have given the seller the benefit of the doubt before posting a negative feedback over a trivial amount and the seller managed to turn an unjustified, in my opinion, negative feedback

Because "Be Good" can be ambiguous, e.g. it's also equivalent to "Don't Be Bad [at doing something]".

Depends on the number of tabs one tends to have open. On Ubuntu your (a) and (b) are far worse for me in Chrome than in Firefox (in fact that much worse that I only use Chrome on my 8GB RAM laptop but not on a 4GB one). I agree with (c).

Sure, not from litre ones, there's too much binge drinking already :) But the half-a-litre glasses, common in metric countries, are a very close replacement to pints in terms of volume.

I think the title of the article is unnecessarily provocative considering recent political and military events. It might not be intentional but a little more thought into the title could have resulted in something with less political overto

Dear Jono, It may very well be that RMS's comments were over the top but please check the numbers on DistroWatch - those numbers will testify that Canonical is not making the right decisions, at least not on the desktop, and RMS's sentiment

I've no idea if their service actually works but if it does, it's illegal in the EU and it would also be illegal for their clients to use such information to e-mail those visitors. EDIT: talking about relead.com mentioned in a g+ reply.

What the most popular browser is doesn't matter on its own. But I would still expand your <=IE8 to include all of IE because, while IE8 and lower are hopelessly outdated, IE9 is still a poor HTML5 browser and new and shiny IE10 is alrea

I've been doing 'sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop' and getting rid of Gnome/Unity since 8.04 - no pain involved. Maybe it does not apply to XFCE/LXE/others (I don't know) but it's one command to stick KDE on top of Ubuntu.

It's 2012 and my laptop has 8GB of RAM, which means that my booted-up idle machine with a modern graphical DE uses less than 5% of available RAM. I wouldn't call it sad.

Preventing Akonadi/Nepomuk/Strigi nonsense from running helps with resources quite a bit (unless, of course, one actually uses them). My Ubuntu with KDE uses less than 400MB RAM idle and without the above.

There is a reason for that trend - Ubuntu LTS on the server takes less time to set up and manage than Red Hat/CentOS. Red Hat of course now does 10-year support for its releases as well as excellent security out of the box (10-year support

Rarely do I get to read articles that are that low on substance, facts or concrete examples. What is a "Go's particular way" and how does it differ from the author's way? What are these 'particular' structures and behaviour? What is this "p
