I mean, it may be a couple seconds (like 5, not 30+), but ~every modern house in Japan has a heater like that.

FWIW "heats up instantly" and "has 1 degree temperature control" also describes modern gas heaters.

If it didn't require that much willpower; then the obesity rates wouldn't be what they are, right? It might be easy for you, but it clearly is very, very hard for a lot of people.

>Imagine an elevator, gas pump, vending machine, or laundromat emitting sound effects constantly. This a non-that-inaccurate depiction of how life in Japan is, but thankfully one adapts quite quickly to that.

One interesting way of using this I've heard of; is attaching it to a `-[UIViewController dealloc]`, and being able to "hear" (or rather notice the lack of sound) retain cycles this way.

I don't feel like discounting "convenience" and "ease of use" to 0 is a reasonable argument; but we clearly disagree here.

But this is a wrong metric to use! _Can_ you get the same coffee out of 250E machine as from a 20kE one? Probably! Will it take the same amount of work? Will it be as repeatable as the more expensive one? Will you need to temperature surf?

I find it cute that you think people arguing that 1250E is not that much for a quality espresso machine don't know Hoffman's videos like the back of their hands :)

I'd be very curious to see a 250E 58mm espresso machine with anything resembling the temperature stability of an E61.

I mean, 1250 euros is a lot of money, but that is very much on the lower end of prices for mid-range espresso machines. If you don't like espresso and don't find it valuable, that's fine!

(not OP) It just doesn't matter that much in my experience. If an issued command didn't work, it's easy to tell anyway (it's hot/cold), and you can just repeat it. HomeAssistant also has bits of special handling for

One of the selling points of Apple devices is that their software is [1] just _nice_ to use, letting you do what you need to do, without having to keep you in and monetize you otherwise. Is Mail.app the most powerful client on earth? No; bu
