I'm curious what you mean here, other than potentially anabolic steroids? I would not call these "safe", so I think you might have meant something else?

I think it's far more likely that it's driven by the fact that most CPUs are sold in laptops; and P/E core split lets them have better battery life. Those design decisions then bubble up to server space, not the other way aro

I was gonna link to https://mastodon.social/@_inside/112440596781136013 ; but you're right, it says that "iPadOS running on M4" has "Secure Exclave"; not that "M4 has Secure Exclave".

What is the on-chip part of "Secure Exclave" then?

Because it's not a separate "light", like you have on your external camera, or on a laptop — it lights up specific pixels on the "main" screen; without the CPU/GPU/mainOS knowing about it.

iPadOS has hover states and pointer events; those could be arguably trigerred by eye tracking.

I wonder if it'll use the same architecture as visionOS; where the vision tracking events and UI affordances are processed and composited out-of-process; with the app never seeing them.

I don't know if it's a placebo effect; but I find that they _do_ work. _But_ they also make you less drunk and making the drunkenness less... pleasant? Sample size of like... 4 nights out having nomihoudai.

M1 Macs started shipping in late 2020, so, for some definitions of "recently", sure. It's true for any laptops that can be reasonably described as having a "SoC" and not CPU, anyway. (I guess you could be extremely
