The bizarre thing about this is that virtually all multi-platform games implement this anyway — it just works this way out of the box on consoles. But glad to hear it’s becoming more common - I might check it out on Deck again soon.

I haven't tried in the last couple of months, but last time I tried connecting Deck to a TV it was _painfully_ obvious it was Linux with a thin veneer of Steam over the top. Some of that is Valves' to fix, but some other things ar

All of those have games exclusive to them. 3DS has like ~15, though some heavy hitters (Xenoblade and Fire Emblem), DSi has like 6 no-names (and, technically, a whole lot on DSiWare); but there are many GBC-exclusive games.

This has been announced back in November: https://x.com/NintendoCoLtd/status/1853972163033968794 ; though if you're not extremely plugged in, it has been rather easy to miss.

As I understand the article; it’s not that we found out that they’ve _started_ absorbing more CO2; it’s that the previous estimations were flawed and we have new, improved ones.

I know this is unequivocally a bad solution, but LG is weirdly good about supporting remotes across generations. No guarantees about the 2025 model, but a couple of years back I specifically bought a _newer_ remote, because my 2018 model di

We're in a thread talking about a technology that purports to make creating "native mobile apps, as easy as creating a website"; and the parent claimed that the Alipay/WeChats mini-app stacks are similar. I don't th

I've had very limited exposure to Alipay mini-programs (took a daytrip to Shenzhen from HK); but anything I had to touch (couples of restaurant menus; buying tickets for metro) was _screaming_ "this is poorly constructed webpage&q

That’s not what iTerm2 does. I want an actual-full-screen, with menu-bar and Dock invisible, with no window chrome - not merely “fill the maximum allowable space by the OS, as if dragging the windows corner with mouse”. BUT I don’t want to

This, of course, depends on how long you’ve been using macOS and what long list of quirks you’ve acquired. For me, „just” being able to use a full-screen-mode-that-is-different-than-native-macOS-full-screen is worth it; but I imagine there

The biggest issue with doing this, for most people, is that now each of your photos is 3x time the size and they need to spend more on their phones and/or cloud storage.

The "not-behind-the-paywall-and-NDA" GDK version is severely more limited than the invite-only GDKX. IIRC the homebrew you can run is mostly UWP stuff? But if you want to launch a _game_, built for an Xbox, it requires to be in th

The issue with cheap knives isn't how sharp you can get them — you can _anything_ razor sharp relatively easily. Making a knife that _keeps_ sharp; and that will not chip/shatter/handle won't disintegrate is the difficul

FWIW, that is a thing that Apple actually gets wrong a bit across the world. The default layout for Macs sold in Poland is also nonsensical — it's "technically" more correct, and maps closer to what the typewriters looked lik
