Is the games industry doing a lot worse? I read this article: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/02/22/ign-layoffs-and-sayin... Although they don't say it outright, it strongly implies that the game industry is not as profitable as it once

This idea seems ridiculous. I really hope your main selling point is not the fact that your website will last forever. Let's not even go into the fact that there's a high likelihood this project won't even take off considering the high amou

Your design also has some similarities with the Mercurial Wordpress theme does it not? I'm not sure which one came before, so I can't comment on who imitated who. Also there are a couple sites on the list that shouldn't be there. They look

One thing that popped right out to me was how similar the top banner looks to the Paypal top banner.

I have to say that it was mostly the girls in the show that annoyed me. The guys were pretty believable in my opinion, and also legitimate. One of them was the founder of Carsabi (YC company). I'm a startup founder and I've been to a costum

It does mention on their site that if you get charged the 39.95, you will get a member credit, which you can redeem for one style later on. So at least they are not just stealing. Was your girlfriend able to redeem her credits?

It's good if it's a very clear comparison using big name startups. Can someone else understand it when you just say your "X for Y" statement?

You should write a blog post or something and get some SEO juice on there so when people search for them they will find out how shitty of a company they are.

Interesting article, and I think it brings up a really good point. There must be tons of opportunities like this that we just don't know about. Why did you stop at only $1000?

This should be easy. If you're technical there are tons of people searching for you. You don't necessarily have to go to "business-oriented" events. Just go to some startup-oriented events and you'll meet tons of people that could potential

What goes down can always go back up again. I'm not a Microsoft fanboy by any means (actually I prefer Apple a lot), but 11 years ago it was Apple that was on the downturn before they released the iPod. Who knows? Maybe Microsoft will be on

Sending e-mails to bloggers was a great way for us to get our startup off the ground and get some initial traction. We also did some advertising - Reddit ads did really well for us.

They knew what kind of arrangement they were getting into. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't daily deal sites like LivingSocial / Groupon offer voucher caps on their deals now? If the studio couldn't handle that type of volume they never s

You're relying on someone else to build the core of your business. While it works in some cases (maybe yours), there are many problems that can arise. For example, it could be harder and slower to iterate new versions of your product. It ca

It's a great way to keep track of the latest news and happenings in the world and in my local community. I admit I wasn't much of a news reader when I was younger, but now I'm much more plugged in and social media helps me do this.

It helps if you're in a city that has a large base of startup entrepreneurs like San Francisco, Austin, Seattle, etc. If you're not, I suggest moving to one. Check your city to see if they have any meetups (Meetup.com and Google). If you li

If you're setting up some kind of online storefront, Stripe is definitely the way to go. They have a wonderful API that you should be able to easily incorporate into your site.

How will your company compete? Do you have any competitive advantage over Yelp, CitySearch, etc? I'm not a fan of the branding. Your name: Mama Always Says - it's too long and too easy to misspell (double A and double S in the URL). I think
