I imagine a sea of furrowed brows aimed at those showing up to conferences wearing a Hacktoberfest shirt.

Agreed, somehow bots are able to jump the queue but there’s no description of how or why that’s possible. Why would the bot transaction be given higher priority than the submitted transaction?

Definitely do whatever you want with your land but thought I’d throw in my two cents on moles. I gave up worrying about them after learning about all the good they do (aerating, eating grubs that turn into beetles that do harm my garden, et

3—5 calls per year seems great. I don’t feel detached. Or maybe I am and that’s how I like it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Still love my mom though. Will call her in a bit.

Manjaro takes the edge off Arch. After having tended my Arch garden for a year or so (very grateful for all the learning) I’m happy with the balance of some handholding without losing the AUR.

Writing by default is logically followed by stderr? I just don’t follow. Asking a program for info and then getting that info on stderr seems really bizarre to me. Is this some historical UNIXism?

> Like curl but unlike httpie, headers are written on stderr instead of stdout. What’s the thinking here? If I ask for the headers, wouldn’t I want that on stdout?

As someone else who knows nothing about how layout engines work, kudos to this response. I understand time and attention don’t scale well and I hope you don’t get overwhelmed but this kind of attitude in open source is the greatest.

Yes, a screen’s HDMI can go to USB-C… with a dongle. Am I guaranteed the upstairs conference room will have one? Nope, better pack the dongle. USB drives, USB headphone/mic adapter, the list goes on and on. I’m not saying it has to bo

Same here. At least for the moment I’m happily running Arch on an X1. Not that there aren’t tradeoffs but man, Apple has been killing me the last few years. I can’t do the dongle life.

This looks great! Extra kudos for it working on mobile (iOS 11 anyway). I’m usually checking HN on my phone and these things rarely work there.

It’s a good example because that’s what they’re saying. With GitHub you’re not limited to editing through the web UI. With Figma you are. Something like Figma backed by data you control would be fine.

Yes, you're absolutely correct. So the takeaway would be not to bring software patent litigation to Facebook's door flippantly. A thing I'm absolutely in favor of. I can't believe I'm defending Facebook though. A co
