I can confirm Android users can't uninstall the Chrome browser. I can also confirm iOS users can't uninstall the Safari browser.

Have you forgotten what life was like before windows got UAC? Just because a machine is single user doesn't mean it's a good idea for all processes to run as root/Admin.

It's been years since that was necessary. All major distros do this sort of thing automatically now with GUI configuration tools as a first class option. Even on bare bones distros like Debian.

Ubiquiti is still pretty good for home usage. Their gear is the only one I have used so far that handles 10-15 active devices without breaking a sweat. Other APs I've tried fall apart pretty quickly at that number.

I bought a Lenovo X1 Carbon expecting excatly the situation you describe so stuck with the preinstalled Windows 10 for some months. I was pleasantly surprised when I summoned up the courage to try Debian. I had no trouble at all with all yo

I use both Google and O365 at the educational institutions I work at and both platforms works fine across a wide variety of applications. Strange that you are experiencing these issues.

That sounds very strange. Certainly don't see that in Firefox on Mac (work laptop) and both Linux and Windows (personal laptop). Try adding the h.264 extension. That forces YouTube to provide h.264 videos which is hardware accelerated

Interesting, I have uBlock Origin and indeed I can't tell the difference between Chrome and Firefox.

Indeed. Hangouts is one I find works better in Firefox even! But I observe it seems to vary. Perhaps Intel Macs has some quirks that makes it more peformant and reliable in Firefox.

I have strict tracking enabled in Firefox as well as uBlock Origin and I've yet to see a site broken. The only "broken" ones I've seen are badly coded ones that also fail to work in Chrome. Reputable sites tend to be jus

There's a few for ATM withdrawals over 300 a month. Whereas all banks in New Zealand don't charge any fees for this on most if not all account types.

Funnily enough it costs more in fees for me to use Wise as my daily account so I've kept my traditional bank cards! I do suspect it varies by country. I'm fortunate in New Zealand that banks generally offer fee-free accounts with

Here in New Zealand, Apple Maps is more or less on par with Google Maps with a lot of variability in different areas. I switched from Apple to Google about a year ago and to be honest even if Google Maps is sometimes better than Apple, it&#

Agreed. mmWave 5G deployment is not that common from my observation around the world. For example here in NZ most, if not all, 5G deployments is in the 3.5 GHz band (with some test deployment in 2.6 GHz in areas where it is not in use for 4

Perhaps not but we are at the point now where it is not economically viable to buy new IPv4 blocks. Many smaller (and more recently established ISPs) ISPs have given up on buying IPv4 addresses and are now running CG-NAT behind the handful

Keep in mind Google is the default browser on Android. Many corporates load Chrome as the default browser as part of their setup process for new machines. For many naive people Chrome is the default browser. It's been a long time since
