I say that DDD sounds nice in principle, and in blog posts, and in books, but I have yet to see that magical fairy land be implemented in the real world. Aggregates (and drawing their boundaries), especially when combined with domain models

Most definitely, EDN is obviously a nice format to work with if you already use Clojure. Also, I think what all the DDD and Hibernate advocates failed to articulate when they hyped their paradigms 10 years ago was that their model of progra

Objective-C is in my eye an example of an 'ugly' language (syntax wise), most definitely not Clojure.

Regarding the web, I'd start with functional paradigms and immutable data structures. I'd avoid monolithic stateful frameworks such as AngularJS. More in the vein of ReactJS, ClojureScript, Om, mori etc... http://www.sl

Amen, less is more. I think certain programming languages and ecosystems just naturally attract these huge, convoluted stacks, and I don't necessarily mean JavaScript, but UI programming in general. This shit has all been tried before.

This is ironic because you could apply the same statement to issues like open-source software, walled gardens and net neutrality. To the regular joe, the issues we talk about as developers on here hardly matter, yet as a people actually wri

At least Nintendo is still Nintendo. Sega is just yet another app and game publisher. As a kid from the 80's remembering the Sega vs. Nintendo wars, this is a sad state of affairs. If you own the platform, you can really push your IPs.

With go, you should absolutely vendor your dependencies. Unfortunately, the tutorials and docs on their site do not point that out strongly enough, I guess a lot of beginners will be bitten by this in the future.

In high school I programmed a mini-RPG on a TI-85. It actually was quite a lot of fun (the programming, not so much the game). In our last year I think we could also buy either a TI-89 or TI-92 (which was quite the behemoth). In our school
