But that puts the onus on the sender not to spam people who may not be interested. There needs to be more control for the receiving end.

I wasn't singling out any particular languages, just giving an example. It's a lot easier to understand code in an unfamiliar language if it's written in an idiomatic fashion as opposed to using all sorts of tricks.

And even if your team is superstars now it doesn't mean it always will be. What happens a few years down the road when you now have a team 5 or 10 times the size with people of varying skillsets and areas of expertise. Now that guy with mos

What's so special about the scrotum versus another part of your body? People regularly punch holes through their ears and other parts of their skin, and even get their children to do the same. A lot of parents even agree to or request that

Is there anything other than abstinence that's verifiable by both partners? Non-visible methods could be lied about whereas visible ones such as condoms can be tampered with.

Not sure why some guys have so many reservations about this, it sounds like a simple and reversible procedure with a quick recovery. I'd get it if it were available in Canada.

I've actually looked a bit at bulbflow before, being a Python programmer who has had an interest in graph databases for quite some time. That's why I asked my question originally. Can you give an example of the types of relations you're usi

What's the advantage of storing a blog in a graph database? Or is it just one of those "just because I could" things?

An interesting perspective. I too would like to spend more time writing open source software. The main reason I do not, and something which I think holds true for a lot of people, is that even if our company wanted to open source some of ou

Total linkbait title. There's nothing wrong with getting the data out of Amazon, it's writing it to other cloud providers that's the problem. If you just want to access the data or move it to your own datacenter presumably you will only be

Beware that once you subclass namedtuple you are losing out on one of its beneficial characteristics: memory efficiency. Instances of subclasses have an instance dict which has a non-trivial overhead. You can avoid this by defining __slots_

From the perspective of someone who frequents Hacker News then of course it's going to seem like there's a ton of sites using the nearly-stock bootstrap look. That's because people like us actually look at sites like "Built With Bootstrap"

You seem to be making the assumption that many of those people are working on Django full time. It's pretty clear from their descriptions that most of them have other day jobs.

I must be in the minority but I never found the huge cans to be comfortable. The weight becomes annoying, and they cause my ears to get warm and sweaty after extended wear. Earbuds are alright, but they never fit in my ears properly and fal

As someone who's an IDE "beginner" (I usually code in Vim, recently started using IDEA) in my opinion there's nothing at all about this that "helps beginners get going". Instead of having a useful toolbar with a few of the most common opera

To be fair, the MQ and rebase extensions are shipped with mercurial, just not enabled by default. They share the same bug tracker as the main project and in my experience are just as well documented and tested as other bits of Mercurial. It
