Thanks, I keep all monitors (laptop or not) at arms length for work/reading, but for gaming or other immersive activities a 13in screen needs to be closer to match the experience of a full size monitor

Never heard of nexstand but it looks suboptimal for keeping the small laptop screen as close as possible to your eyes My preferred design is like https://amzn.eu/d/0KB8nGM (2x U shapes of metal), which lets you have th

I expected it to mean 45% NTSC.. panel gamuts are usually specified in marketing as either 45% NTSC, 100% sRGB, or some % of adobe rgb/display p3 for wide gamut Not sure why they dropped the NTSC, maybe consumers have cottoned on to NT

The film secret sauce is usually varying temperature/hue in different regions/brightnesses of the image. The 2005 digital example exhibits this via red/magenta being excessive in the shadows, but falling off in brighter areas

A background thread performing blocking io is an implementation detail not a bug. Other filesystems don’t have/need that sort of bookkeeping, so if a block device stalls badly enough to trigger these warnings then it will be attributed

Ye that's what I meant when I said side-by-side. You can't use the same pattern matching that your eyes/brain do when an image instantly swaps, as audio is always temporally moving to be heard at all. Instantly swapping betwe

Maybe not fundamentally flawed but audio ABX testing is focused towards short term memory and opinion (especially in unskilled subjects) than I would like. I don't think there is any right answer to audio blind tests. I'll trust a

I think these kind of blind listening tests are fundamentally flawed. For example in the graphics realm (games, video encoding, colour science, etc) all it takes is a momentary black screen between two comparison images to make it vastly mo

Even the 250W 2080Ti (+150W Intel) is oppressive to be in the same room with during warmer months. I know it probably won't be, but it should be a hard sell in countries that don't have air conditioning as standard. Not to mention
