Looks quite different when you use a benchmark that scales more effectively with additional cores: http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/graph11170/85882.png

cpubenchmark's multithreaded results tend not to scale well with additional cores; comparing results between the two on other better-scaling workloads shows the 1800x blowing the pants off of the 7700k.

An obvious difference between IP theft and muggings, however, is that the later also entails threats of violence (and sometimes even assault & battery). That's why robbery is generally considered more heinous than burglary, where t

I'm working on an approach using ZFS on K8s. The idea is to write a custom "flexvolume" driver that takes set of EBS volumes an options, attaches them, create a zpool, set options, etc. In tandem, however, I'm adding to

I thought that style was considered bad form in modern C/C++ (esp. the later, with `constexpr`). What's wrong with const PI: f64 = 3.14159265358979323846264338327950288; ?

If those benchmarks make use of AVX, that could be another explanation. Even without those instructions, Zen has less-powerfull FP units than Skylake. One advantage Zen might have is in mixed codes, since it has 10-issue segmented into 6 in

Unfortunate. With Let's Encrypt, there's really not much excuse not to support both HTTP and HTTPS.

AMD typically includes ECC support in "consumer" chips. Not all boards, do. I'm worried too, though, that this still hasn't been confirmed yet. An 8-core at 3.4+ GHz sounds perfect for a workstation.
