Someone finally took the time to say publicly how things work... what's all the fuss about?

Maybe it's just me, but I would prefer if clicking on "Pricing" brought me to a page that says "Coming soon", rather than an alert . Also, clicking on the logo at the top left results in a 404.

I don't get the "its syntax turns forty", as if it was a bad thing. If those who attempt to devise a more "modern" syntax come up with things such as Visual Basic, then I'm happy with an ancient syntax.

I know what WAMP is good for, thank you very much. I was referring to the fact that this is nothing new at all.

Whatever you want, as long as it works. Personally, I think that some kind of 'civil disorder' will happen sometime in the not-so-far future. Not that I would like it, but I fear it's inevitable if things keep getting worse like they're doi

Hehe, wikipedia, of course. The only way to fix the Italian government would be the equivalent of a 'make mrproper', so to speak.

It would help a bit if you wrote on the README that it's a PHP ORM. I mean, it's not that it takes long to figure it out, but hey.

Nope, I'm talking about this: http://lwn.net/Articles/131312/ Anyway, that was just an example. Generally, what gets written about something that is still new is what will stick in people's head for quite a long time. I believe it's like

Alas, early-days labels persist for many years. Git is still referred to by some as a content-addressable filesystem and not an SCM, which is what Linus wrote in his announcement email. EDIT: and git is just an example.

You're perfectly right. I was thinking about leaving Italy too, that's why I'm trying to amass as much knowledge about software development as I possibily can. And no, the rest of the world isn't any better. What is true, though, is that in

I agree with most of what Joe has said. But I love IDEs with features that help me with refactoring. That doesn't seem to be a dangerous shortcut to me. Granted, by the time you know what refactoring even means AND you know that you should

Me, I really love this "Circles" feature. How I organize my contacts is (and should be) entirely up to me. Others can't see my groups? It can't get any better than that, and I really mean it. But hey, of course I might be wrong.

Yep. As it happens all to often, many people write only because they have a keyboard. But that's not even surprising, if you consider that they probably are the same people that, in real life, talk only because they happen to have a mouth.

Well, many of their sites got hacked recently, but that didn't seem to help in terms of hardening their systems from the security standpoint. So I must wonder: will a site like that prove to be any useful? I don't think so.

I'm new here (this is my first comment by the way, so hello everybody), but I'm sorry to see a long-time contributor go. The fact that I'm new doesn't mean I don't see that the signal-to-noise ratio is not really good. I came across some ve
