I agree with him on the notion that we have no 'free will' to speak of. In the end, we are just physical beings that must operate according to cause and effect, whether we are 'compelled' or not. Sound depressing, but th

Assuming this is true, how do we deliver family friendly housing in the city? It seems that we would need to get rid of most cars to make space for more voluminous housing within cities.

Running does make pedestrian locomotion more tolerable. Save me some money versus using electric scooters though I think electric scooters are still faster.

3D printing as a hobby took off in the late 00s. It's not surprising that there's still fruits to pick, though the low hanging fruits are gone.

This is weird complaining about old people dying at 85/90 as opposed to 65/70. The solution to the social security burden is not to get rid of old people but to make them live longer and healthier lives, the more the better, prefe

It's all about information. Some information can be boiled down to statistics and numbers, and that's great! Some cannot be. The executives who sits in their office are not going to be able to smell and taste or care about the foo

My only issue with masks is that they're a bit too annoying to wear and they reduce my ability to understand what people are saying because I can't see their mouth. I would happily wear masks if they're more convenient.

I live in a SFH. It's very unpleasant outside of my home. It's inconvenient, sometime outright dangerous to walk to my local grocery store. There's also constant noise from the cars and the ever present possibility of a car d

Presuming everyone does want to live in a dense area (I do not), building housing and infrastructure is expensive and at the end of the day it has to be profitable to build. We don't really have the framework to zone municipalities at

They should be buying EVs for those who needs them such as rural area. For the rest of us, our quality of life would improve if we get rid of cars and densify areas.

Why not a national interstate rail system? Roads can still be used for flexible local transportation while railroads are used for mainline logistics and transportation of passengers.

According to wikipedia, stroad was coined by a civil engineer.[1] Also, while I can't currently find it via google, I am pretty sure that stroad had entered traffic engineers' lexicon somewhere in an engineering handbook. 1. http

I don't think your basal metabolic rate goes down to zero as you increase exercise. There's probably at some point in which your daily total expenditure must increase, but it's unsustainable.

Above a certain level of income, fertility rate is at or above replacement rate. Elsewhere, the relationship is inverse. Earning more decreases fertility rate, such as in the US.
