Sure but why does it matter that one is above average? I can’t think of one situation that isn’t contrived that involves this piece of information. That physicist doesn’t need that info to do research or accomplish great things.

I believe the Paradox of Choice talks about something like this. When you make a mistake you can either A) introspect, own up to it and learn from it or B) shirk responsibility and push it off on the environment/context instead of ones

Operated by Twitch nice. Interesting they have a “Time To Beat” field but it’s not really populated. I also use Airtable and was thinking of writing a Zapier hook to scrape HowLongToBeat.com for this info. It’s one of my favorite stats to h

Anyone know of a project like this for video games? I got a spreadsheet I use to organize games I’ve played/am going to play and always looking for an easier way to get metadata. I was also looking at building something like Goodreads

I personally love Airtable’s frontend. That’d be a project I’d love to work on.

EDIT: Some context about myself so as to not misrepresent myself as some sort of expert. I’ve been prepping while working full time for 6 months. I was really quite bad at doing the problems initially and now can pretty much knock out most

On the topic of getting burned on edge cases I myself am in the same boat. I’m very much a speedy, excited programmer. I want to build the thing and see if it works afterwards. This can make me a bit sloppy especially in a time boxed codi

Wayyyy at the bottom: AirPods Max require Apple devices running iOS 14.3 or later, iPadOS 14.3 or later, macOS Big Sur 11.1 or later, watchOS 7.2 or later, or tvOS 14.3 or later.

Assuming these compare in fidelity of sound, I think it’s a no brainer for a lot of people. Likely works seamlessly with apple products similar to other airpods and, unlike those other cans, doesn’t require a proper sound system or external

Admittedly I think it’s not a ton of work with there being things like Stripe Atlas (I think there are others as well) that automate a lot of it: https://stripe.com/atlas

I’d argue that’s not a new phenomenon by any extent. Climate change denial has had a strong following for over a decade. We’re just seeing how devastating the effects of this sort of behavior can be in a short timeline (I agree with Chomsky

There's absolutely nuance. I think it's like you say, the mindset. If you purchase something because you want something that's "nicer than everyone else's", you'll be unhappy. You're inherently fighti

I’m so happy I made the mistake of buying a BMW with the money from my first software engineering job. I learned in my 20s that money buys very little short term happiness. And then you’re stuck with a loan and a “cool” car that you’ve norm

Imo it’s the same thing. It all goes back to the individual, the parent in this case. The parent needs to teach and model to the kids that a focus on wealth and material “stuff” is meaningless and leads to unhappiness. Not saying that’s eas

Prolly be fine unless for some reason a famous person used it to post a link that got millions of hits in a short time. Then, I would assume pretty quickly if GitHub tracks API use per key. Or maybe it’d just be throttled.

Any insight from FAANG et al companies with respect to resumes? I would guess they’re just glanced at for years of experience to bucket candidates against a type of interview schedule that then determines level/comp and that’s about it

This. The side effect is OP is likely humble which is a great side effect. But I’d say it should stop there and not extend into thinking others are better than yourself. A lot of $$$ is people making different decisions and those decisions

I think someone said there were 7 employees. I saw some of the jobs listed for YC startups and on AngelList showing 1% equity for first engineer roles. So yeah that seems about right by my estimation.

I’m wondering if it’s more of a “Chaos Injector” component/service that reads configuration data from the Chaos Control Plane on what to target, with parameters on how/when to do so. That would make the arrow make sense in my min
