Patiently waiting until the pendulum swings back to async binding js events to elements by classes and ids and any inlining gets frowned upon.

Something I felt reading the book that I did not feel with the movie was a bit of horror sci-fi vibes. That alone to me is what makes Solaris one of Lem's top works, on which the crude descriptions add to the suspense and horror.

Thanks for replying and for providing feeds much on the same philosophy as citybikes. I guess the feed you mention is for Aachen [1]? Sometimes I take a very hands-off approach on the library contributions, so I do not know about specifics.

I was under the impression that this was not the case, since the pressure and other information seems to be available on their SDK docuementation See https://developer.apple.com/documentation/coremotion/cmwater...

Just added that to the article. I do not see the OSTC as a general purpose programmable dive computer (under my own definition, that is).

This might be a pivotal moment on subscription based hardware. Apple is selling their hardware as a software platform _to_ companies that already sell their hardware. Will this force other companies selling dive computers to adapt and also

Maybe pessimistic: leave and find a place to work on something you enjoy. If you stay you will be left fighting everyone and doing all the grunt work by yourself whilst others keep pushing more code in for you to cleanup.

Happy if cars ditched the navigation screen altogether. Having an external GPS is not such a bad thing. Something you can remove, replace or upgrade.

I apply this solution exclusively on the development environment. I have found that having the power to bail out to a shell whenever docker compose does not support something helps me iterate faster on my local dev (without affecting others

It's an anti-pattern just because you say so. This is a simplified example of a complex problem that needs arbitrary volume mounts. Using volume mounts to run software inside containers is a common dev pattern on scenarios where rebuil

Everything is simple until someone asks you to try and diagnose (and hopefully fix) a bug on an upgrade between two different versions of a piece of software that can be deployed using 5 different strategies or that has 20 moving services..

It's a simple example, maybe too simple to get the point. What I want is to conditionally set things on a yaml file. If you have ever used a templating language, you know this problem services: redis: ...

All I am saying is: * docker compose could be better * docker compose does not improve that much * by mixing docker compose with templates you can get complex stuff going, but is not a much advertised feature. Most of the "cool dev too

That's just the tip of the iceberg. My problem is that YAML is not a turing complete language (and dev environments are usually messy by their nature).

For me the problem is that yaml (and the compose specificatio n) is not self sufficient to support complex scenarios. You will start by setting things and discovering that ENV vars * on the global scope of the compose specification are not
