Edit to be less snarky: I assume they do have backup generators, though I don’t know. However if the sudden increase put that much load on the grid it could drop the frequency enough to blackout the entire neighborhood. That would be bad ev

Good question. It completely untethers me from my desk. The battery life is so good I can get through an entire work day without worrying about power at any point. This frees me up to leave (e.g. for a meeting, to work in the park or just o

You actually have that option now. I don't the specifics (how you do it) but I believe you can choose from two tracks: the traditional "update to iOS15" and "stay on 14 but get security updates". It's new this

I don’t think that’s what that chart says. It’s combining Government and other compulsory expenses. I haven’t reviewed the report behind the chart but I’d expect the blue bar to include things like employer paid insurance premiums.

Those neighborhoods are deeply subsidized. I don’t doubt that most Americans would like their exact house (or bigger) in a walkable neighborhood over something that’s actually be available in town today, but it’s not a purely market driven

It’s a story about it ending 3 years ago. Not sure if I agree with GP but “here’s a story of something that used to happen” doesn’t contradict “this type of thing can’t happen anymore”

In my city (Milwaukee Wi) there are plenty of areas with single family houses, less than 10 units/acre with 0-1 cars per house. It’s not that uncommon in the US, especially in poorer areas

I believe windows has/had a setting where you could automatically log out if a bluetooth device was disconnected. I'm not sure how hard it'd be to do something like that on a Mac but maybe I should look into it. I think "
