I have some shares, and every once in a while, the company appears to generate new shares out of thin air. Which to me, implies my share value will fall. Admittedly I don't understand what's going on. http://www.teleg

Yes cyclists in the main have to share the same network. And that network in many places is just overburdened. My fastest route to town is down a country road that has the national speed limit. Local drivers complain about cyclists even

I first encountered tabbed browsing on Opera, and the other browsers later copied. I think it was actually cheaper in terms of resources than another window. So tabs are a hack, that caught on because Window managers on many OSs are so po

Depends on your plan, in the UK I've only recently shaken off a metered plan. And mobile plans are usually metered at about 1GB per month for something vaguely affordable.

I'm up for net neutrality, but what do you about one or two pigs hogging the network? This quotes netflix as having 37% of traffic in N.A. http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/01/20/netflix-boasts-37-

When internet connections were pay per minute, I'd think about what I wanted to look up before I connected. Then I'd go online and used Opera to follow many links to different tabs. I'd have a flurry, then disconnect and rea

There are faster 'cheats' such as pre-fetching. I'd have thought that bandwidth management would be the hottest area for improvement/features for mobile users. In the UK, mobile tariffs have about 1GB per month include

The best thing about a cold shower is that when you get out, you feel to only get warmer, and it's very pleasing the sensation of thawing through. Whereas hot shower to coldish environment just makes me shiver.

Defo, my Mum's partner had an Atari ST with cubase etc. and a couple of keyboards and he used to have fun and make music. Ever since he bought his first PC, he has made no music whatsoever, he spends his time in the Internet wormhole

That wasn't my point. Parent said RSS was the only sane way. Wordpress aside - email notifications can also be a 'sane' way.

You could do Facebook over RSS at one time. Requires more effort to rig it all up on your part.

Brother did a holiday blog in wordpress. New posts sent out email pings. That was fine, if you don't mind a torrent of notifications in your inbox.

It could be because many feed readers just aren't that great. If you look at Twitter as a feed, the web interface is okay, but when it comes to reading threads etc, it becomes poor. Filtering, selecting, muting, interleaving, is the

I remember the days pre-google when Yahoo was king. And most sites were filed under a topic/category. That was the default way to find a group of somethings. It's also a little suggestive and explorative, whereas keyword based

Can someone explain what this? Is it a fork of Android with the Google service apps rewritten? Or just the latter? Could I take an old Android OS and install the alternative Gapps? Yours, confused.

I agree that packaging needs a rethink. Our household waste stream is quite low (UK). Less than a small carrier bag per week of what basically boils down to plastic wrapping and lids. Most of which is unnecessary. All our food wastes, car

I get it, a tree that has had a limb artificially removed is ugly - in my eyes at least. Even trees that are managed can look rough around the edges, whereas the natural shape of trees can be absolutely beautiful. I've tried to tame

As a child (born in the UK mid-seventies), there were about only a dozen or so people that got picked up and dropped off at school (the poshers). Most children walked, the bike sheds were always maxed out.

In the UK, you should really treat overtaking a bike as you would a car. This just doesn't happen in reality. I pretty much got bulldozed off the road only two days back. I'm not a fan so much of bike lanes, but do prefer wider
