As a smart but not necessarily brilliant teenager getting on the web in mid-late 90s- Maybe Christmas 1996 I- well my family really- got a computer that could get on the internet, search engines were mediocre at best. I did have a family fr

I think you are leaving out a really important aspect of the early internet- content discovery was really hard for users. If you were looking for something about Pets until google became dominant, you were just as likely, if not more likely

Yeah, I think what a lot of people going on TV failed to really express is that there was so much unknown about this new virus, that this is the best information we have to go on RIGHT NOW. And then when that changed, they didn't make

Hey neighbor, I disagree, though switching my VPN gateway to our DR one in NJ vs our primary in Chicago cleared things up. For about an hour and a half though, remote desktop was struggling, even though my speed tests were fine. I'm on

I am still using a SandyBridge core i7 laptop from 2011, and my only real gripe with it is its comically large bezel around the monitor by today's standards. I can't game with it, but general usage and development is not an issue.

Where are you located? In the northeast US, I keep seeing panel prices come down each year, to the point where they are a fairly small portion of the system cost these days- labor now dominates the price.

Interestingly, I have something of an inside view on this- my wife was one of the early enthusiasts, and I guess you could accuse her of being one of the "cliques" discussed- I have been to an instructor's house, a friend of

I said that exact same thing, and passed on an offer from them- 4 years ago. I am not exactly kicking myself- at the time I was not an exercise bike enthusiast, and my few trips to Soul Cycle with my wife really turned me off- and regardles

I don't see what "sides" have to do with this. You have a policy of what is acceptable content or not and apply it uniformly. If one "side" is breaking rules about promoting violence, and the other is not, they are

I mean its tricky to do an analogy between the digital and physical worlds- but I do find it interesting that I mean there is a whole range of possibilities here, at what point do you stop blaming the victim? 1- The front door was left wide

Yeah that was a bit of a head scratcher to me as well- I consider myself to be quite "green" in my political views, and I could not really grasp why this was picked up as an issue to champion for environmental rights- and why it e

I bought a house last year and long story short ended up not selling my condo, meaning to close I needed to not sell a chunk of my investments. Problem is, many had significant capital gains. I ended up just taking a margin loan for a blend

You may not be wrong about C# or Go, I haven't used C# in any capacity in probably 15 years now, and have only dabbled lightly in Go, but Java at least I find is still pretty heavy- awhile back I wrote about my experience trying node h

I am not sure why you think that- I went from doing low level C++ in algo trading for ~10 years to node.js, and programming was never so much fun! No more fighting with the build system, getting a basic app up and running took less than an

This rings so hollow to me. You have tons of people who are all of a sudden working from home and are still doing lunches, or have lots of free time in general in an age where shorter form content is more prevalent. Yes, that was their targ
