It's mostly a recommendation from what I've seen so far, but it's not hard to read this as a future requirement. CISA has been pushing it, which his my why it's on my radar: https://www.cisa.gov/sbom

I updated my personal M2 MBP and it seems fine so far. I usually wait a point release or two before updating my work MBP.

I don't know a single person that uses WhatsApp. I briefly installed and used it 7 or 8 years ago for the 2 weeks I was traveling around Europe, never used it again.

Hopefully this means we can have an Apple 27" 5K or 32" 6K display with ProMotion some day.

Looks like Dash to Dock is the only extension I have installed. The rest of the changes were done through Gnome Tweak or Accessibility settings.

Get a hobby or three. Find something you can really get into. Your identity and self worth are too tied up with work.

Yes, with Fedora 37 and now 38, GNOME, on my desktop. The only issue I have is that I prefer KDE but this just seems to work.

We still use AirBnB/VRBO to book a week at cabins/houses at or near ski resorts or locations that don't otherwise have hotels. I needed an overnight this Saturday in Saratoga, though, and after a quick look at AirBnB I ended

I can't remember any more. Probably via /r/programming back in the day. Apparently I created my account in April 2009, but I had certainly lurked before that.

It depends on your workflow doesn't it? If you're just re-building on the command line every time you make a change, and your build takes 30 seconds, then yeah you wait. If you're working in an IDE, running your project out o

I have 2 work laptops, an M1 MBP and a XPS 15 that I upgraded to Windows 11 a while back. It's fine. Better than Windows 10 was. My explorer has tabs now, among a few other nice things. Nothing broke.

I doubt this is about price like some people in here are suggesting. Maybe a little bit overall market trend, but primarily I would wager it’s because many, many people bought the M1 when it came out and it’s so good that the only people bu

Myself and everybody around me keep their phones on silent/vibrate. If your phone or computer makes noise in a public setting, I assume you have either no manners or self-awareness, or that you don't know how to use your device.

That's what I was saying in my first post though. The M1 suffers none of this. It's playing in a different league than other laptops.

Yeah, one of my personal laptops is a 2019 16" MBP with Intel i9. It's hot, loud, and slow. Just like the work issued XPS 15.

I'm guessing you haven't ever laid hands upon or used a MBP. The screen quality and build quality are untouchable as well. Keyboard is definitely a personal choice, and Apple had a multi-year stretch of terrible keyboards, but the

Just set up a new M1 last week. IntelliJ, git (and Xcode tools), VS Code, Wireshark, KeyStore Explorer, Divvy, Homebrew, fish shell, maven/gradle, Parallels. Usually iTerm2 but trying to give Terminal.app another chance.

Our company uses LastPass. I don't know if AD integration is available. Ours is federated so that if you are logged into Google Chrome / Workspace then you are also logged into the LastPass plugin.
