For those used to PhotoShop who have a hard time transitioning, checkout PhotoGIMP [1]. No, it doesn't magically make GIMP as powerful as PhotoShop, but it rearranges the UI so that it's more familiar to users accustomed to PhotoS

That's not the point I'm making. I use esbuild often for TS development tooling. But if you're building developer tools or libraries and want the output to be optimized for the end-user, introducing a middleman like tsc or es

I may be misreading, but from the first two bullets under "Problem": > Incremental compile time when changing files in cli/js takes minutes. This is crushingly slow and painful to modify. > The typescript organization&#

You are wrong, and the statement that it is based on dogmatism is completely baseless. A couple years ago, the Deno team switched from TS to JS for performance reasons because compiling the TS code became painfully slow. This was an entir

That's cool and and me too, but I don't see how that relates to my use-case. None of us were lost or in fear or un-findable without Briar, it just made the trip more convenient for coordinating time and place between multiple part

Definitely depends on the size of your party. We were a group of five, split between three cabins on different floors of the ship. With how tremendously huge modern cruise liners are and how crowded cruises can be, I found it was invaluable

Sorry I may have communicated this poorly. We were connected to the local area network, but we had no Internet access (which was behind a paywall). However, only being connected to the local network was sufficient for Briar -- no Internet n

Just wanna say this app saved my family and I when we went on a cruise. Normally, we would had had to pay to use the chat service via the ship's paid-only Wi-Fi (since we get no phone reception on the seas). Without needing to pay for

I start VSCode whenever I need the UI debugger or an LSP plugin is too immature on Sublime. But otherwise, I daily drive Sublime Text. The speed difference vs. VSCode is night & day for me.

But OP wasn't bragging about their 9gager project. Also, isn't it possible to be a good programmer but write bad code sometimes? Perhaps OP's best work just isn't on display. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, but

I think something that is often forgotten is that there are highly productive programmers who have near-zero industry experience, or at least are not totally privy to "modern" engineering practices, and who mostly just program as

To be fair, I write quite a bit of sloppy code when I program as a hobby, or if I'm trying to quickly hobble together something that just does what I need to do (and that includes random projects I throw up on Github).

I'm still using andOTP and I prefer it over Aegis. Are there any reasons to stop using it if it still works? What kind of security vulnerability can affect it? Honest questions.

If you keep reading about it and still haven't been able to answer those questions, chances are you probably don't need it. The strengths of Deno over Node are bulleted all over its homepage, but you likely already knew that.

Maybe/maybe not? Deno is a new-er runtime for JavaScript and TypeScript by the creator of Node.js. It's essentially an effort to correct the perceived shortcomings of Node.js with a new runtime that is: 1. compatible with TypeScri

Depends if your package uses any specific Deno/Node APIs. Deno also only supports ESM (which you should be using anyway). There is, however, a Node compatibility layer for Deno: https://deno.land/manual@v1.14.1/npm

Not sure about ORM, but Postgres.js[0] works on Deno. For testing, Deno includes a built-in test runner and assertions via the std[1]. [0] https://github.com/porsager/postgres [1] https://deno.land/manu

Use esbuild and plain CSS to start. Consider Mithril.js for something React-like, or something like Alpine.js.
