Stripe is really, really good at marketing to developers. I have to imagine it’s earned them a lot of business. To the extent that devs are involved in vendor selection, I have to imagine that a large majority of them suggest Stripe to the

Funny, I always thought of Redux as offering greater simplicity and MobX being more powerful.

But what are the own properties of a number? There's nothing to iterate, and therefore nothing to map. WeakMap is a new-ish type whose keys are objects. The references to those objects are weakly held, which means that an object `x` wh

Off topic, but what's the story behind base-64 encoding your email? Is that just a spam prevention measure?

I believe that one of the main reasons not to do this is that adding anything to `Object.prototype` means that now everything inherits that new method. So you have weird things like `'foo'.map()`, `( 42 ).map()`, `new WeakMap(

It's very common. A progressive income tax like this prevents situations where someone getting a small raise that moves them I i a higher tax bracket could actually leave them WORSE OFF than they were before the raise.

Am I misunderstanding your point about the lender? They obviously get paid a percentage of the loan value rather than the home's sale price, but presumably those are fairly well correlated.

I had a positive experience with Redfin, but honestly feel like even with the refund check, I still overpayed for their contribution. I shopped online, went to open houses on my own, and Redfin basically just contacted the seller on my beha

I get it. I really do. I just wish they had a reasonable way to _enforce_ those rules (though I understand it's not really possible) – or at least make people really go out of their way to break convention.

Not to nitpick, because I believe I understand what you mean – but one of the things that bugs me about Redux is that a reducer absolutely CAN have side-effects. They're just "not supposed to". So all it takes is one mistake

Are they required to adhere to a standardized API? If not, then I think there's still some utility in a service that can normalize that stuff and provide you with a single, consistent interface.

Only (somewhat) reliable references I can find are for an F-16. From what I've read: if this happened at all, it was in the simulator.

This is sort of true for mixing, but definitely not for recording. At the end of the day, you always need a mic pre. And they're often a big part of what people love about these old consoles. On the recording side, I'd argue that

Just to clarify a bit: I do think OTT is going to win out in the long run. But that's really just the underlying technology. The tough part is getting rid of the bundle. I'm not so sure that'll happen, although I really hope
